UNDER 7 BOYS & GIRLS

70 boys and girls trained on the bank holiday Sunday in glorious sunshine.  Lots of drinks were had and it’s rumoured some ice cream post training.

Great fun was had today as we split into our pods to practice all the basic football skills. The improvement weekly is a joy to behold.  Well done to all the moms and dads for the practice during the week.

Looking forward to next Sunday at 11am and as ever new members are always welcome.

U8/U10 GIRLS

The weather was again fortunate for those training on Bank Holiday Sunday morning in the John Mitchel’s complex in Ballyseedy, and despite the bank holiday, there was a good turnout at the u8/U10 girls training. We have been fortunate to see some of our older girls called up to u-12 training and we hope that they will do well in the games that are taking place in the coming weeks.
Coaches Padraig and Tanya concentrated on ball skills for the first half of the training session, with hand-passing and kicking drills, to encourage the girls to get comfortable doing these drills on the move.
Ally, Nicole, Clodagh, Ellie Mae, Ava, Millie, Síun, Sophie, Charlie and Tegan all stood out during the drills and it was clear that the previous week had seen some serious work being carried out at home, which is refreshing for the coaches to see.
This was followed up by some work on defensive skills with the girls working hard on shadowing and marking each other. Again, there was excellent effort with Natalie, Roisín, Aine, and Carolina all standing out.

We finished up with a competitive game, with the aim to ensure that the girls could find space on the field and find each other with passes.
Training continues next Sunday at 10.30am in the Mitchel’s complex in Ballyseedy and as ever, we are delighted to welcome new faces.

We will have our little coffee shop open every Sunday for teas coffees and little treats.

All money raised goes to the upkeep of the club and for equipment for the juveniles.

We would like if all parents could support this as with no fundraising we are limited to funds. We introduced ice-creams and ice pops to the shop this week and they were a big hit. Everyone was kept cool after a lovely ice-cream after training Thanks to Hugh Maureen Linda and Sonya for running the shop so smoothly each week.
