UNDER 7 BOYS & GIRLS
A great turnout for Sunday morning training was greeted by beautiful dry weather thankfully.  The boys and girls are making tremendous improvement with their skills and it’s a joy to watch.  Emphasis of training on this occasion was on kicking the ball. And training was concluded with some fun games.
Looking forward to next Sunday morning at 11am. And as ever we welcome any new members
Please keep practising at home.
Do not forget to fill out the return to play form before each session.

U8/U10 GIRLS
Saturday night saw the John Mitchel’s u8 and U10) girls teams travel to Blennerville to take on St Pats in a number of challenge games.
Both games turned out to be very competitive and beneficial to both teams, as they were able to transfer the skills, they are learning into match play. And this was definitely the case on Saturday night, with some excellent scores in the U10 game and a very competitive u8 game.
At u8, the heart and desire that was on display had to be seen to be believed, as the Mitchel’s girls went wholeheartedly for each ball, worked hard for each other and were a credit to the John Mitchel’s jersey.
Brooke, Aideen, Ava, Micaela, Siún, Aine, Clodagh and Peggy were all outstanding on the day and were cheered on by the parents who got a well-deserved spectacle. Special mention must go to Lucy for her excellent save at the end of the game.
In the u-10 game, there was some excellent passing moves and scores kicked by players, and what was refreshing to see was the lessons learned from previous games, and the work rate from all the players.
It was a tough challenge, but defensively, the team was very well organised, with Aisling organising the troops, assisted by our new signing Grace, Emma and Ava. At midfield, Caoimhe and Roisín were superb and worked really hard and up front we got some excellent scores from Maddison, Karolina and Eibhín.
Many thanks to St Pats for hosting us and to the parents for bringing the players to Blennerville. Training continues next Sunday morning at 10.15am.

UNDER 9 BOYS
John Mitchel’s U9 Boys training session got off to a damp start on Sunday Morning but it didn’t deter our Boys who in fairness got stuck in right from the off. We started practicing our skills as always & went quickly into 2 hotly contested games. It’s great to see players improving every week but we still need ye all to keep practicing at home!!
Next week see’s John Mitchel’s U9 Boys away to Currow for some Go Games parents will be contacted during the week with details until then keep on practicing!!!!

Under 11 Boys
A good evening for games and some lovely football on display at our club grounds in Ballyseedy this evening where both of our u11s boys’ teams played against two very game Listry sides.
Whilst the strong wind played its part this evening, it didn’t deter the young footballers on the field. Some lovely point scoring and well taken goals from both sides made the games very enjoyable.
Notable mention to some of our under 9s whose attitude and determination was brilliant to see this evening and weren’t out of place when their chance came to take to the field
Huge thanks to Listry GAA for coming in to us and to our referees and also to Dan and Bubbles for setting up the pitches before throw in.
Well, done boys on a great display
Up the Mitchel’s 💚💛💚💛💚💛💚

UNDER 17 Boys
Our U17s faced Na Gael in the Central League Final Monday Night at Strand Road, it what was a tough, physical and cagey game we came off defeated by two points after missed chances and long scoreless periods cost us. Fair play to our boys they have it everything and they dust themselves down and get ready for Rathmore in the County League Semi Final Monday night at Rathmore.

SENIOR MEN
The senior men faced Rathmore on Saturday at 2pm in Fitzgeralds stadium in a relegation battle on a very wet and windy day. It was neck and neck for scoring in the first quarter which had the score 1-2 to 1-4 before the first water break a penalty from James Duggan followed by a point from Alan O Donoghue. Just before the whistle another goal from Rathmore to make the half time score 2-8 to 1-4 at half time. Big change at the second water after half time left the score line at 1-7 to 3-12 to Rathmore leaving Mitchel’s well beaten and chasing the game.
The Rathmore side were not taking the foot off the gas and kept adding to the tally leaving the final score Rathmore 5-16 John Mitchel’s 1-10. Hard luck lads just not our day.
Training continues Tuesday and Friday evening.
