UNDER 7 BOYS & GIRLS
We had a great morning training Sunday.  Training was divided into 2 groups as we moved indoors as winter approaches.
Great fun was had by both groups as we organised some games for our older boys and girls and obstacle course football themed races for our younger players.
It was great to see new players and hopefully we will see many more over the coming weeks.
Please note training continues indoors as per government guidelines but at the new time of 10.30

U8/U10 GIRLS
There was a great buzz around despite the bad weather once again with a total of 20 players showing for training. The girls got straight into a warm up and then started off with some defensive drills teaming up to work together. The girls then had a task of staying together as a team and helping each other out which they did very successfully. They also got used to communicating so they could put it to good use during a game.
They played a game where both teams had to use their concentration teamwork and skill to score and they got stuck in helping each other out marking their own players and fighting for the ball. Karolina Natalia ally and Caoimhe were extremely strong on the ball, Ava Nichole Tiegan Emma showed some great defensive skills throughout. Sophie Siun ava and lucy showed great skill bursting out with the ball and Clodagh Natalia Brooke Roisin and Peggy all did fantastic with a few scores each.
Training continues next Sunday at 10.15 hoping to see good numbers again

UNDER 12 GIRLS
U12 girls’ season is drawing to a close now, with their last town league game played on Wednesday night. The Mitchel’s girls winning run was extended with a home win against St. Pats of Blennerville. Mitchel’s u12s now boast a very impressive 100% record in both their county league division and Tralee town league division. Fixtures for town league finals are yet to be released, but having topped their group the Mitchel’s girls will enjoy home advantage against their opponents. We look forward to the final game whenever it is confirmed. Well, done girls.

Under 14/16 girls
Having won their last two NKL games to Currow and Na Gaeil B, the Mitchels u14s were looking to make it three on the bounce when they travelled to Mountcoal this Sunday evening to play Finuge/St.Sennans in division 4. Ballyduff had already won out the division last week, and based on results the two sides would face each other again in a shield final after Sunday’s game irrespective of the result, however the teams were playing for home advantage in the upcoming final.
It was a really close contest played on choppy slippery turf, but all girls involved put on a real show for the spectators. The home side led by 5 points at half time, 5-00 to 1-07, and at this stage it was anyone’s game. And the goals kept coming in the second half. After a nail-biting final quarter, the home side emerged the victors by just 2 points, with the final score ending up 7-04 to 5-08 (25-23).
The date and time of the final are yet to be confirmed, but it looks undoubtedly set to be a really close end of season tie, in a repeat of this Sundays fixture.
We look forward to seeing how the teams fair second time round. Super effort by all girls involved.

SENIOR MEN
The senior men travelled to Dromid on Suday for the next round of the intermediate club championship, where they faced a strong opposition in wet and windy conditions for both teams. Within the first ten minutes there was only 4 points in total 2 each for both sides and by the first water break the score line was Dromid 0-04 John Mitchel’s 0-03. With the weather conditions playing a part both teams have to work extremely hard and scoring was difficult but by half time it was 0-06 to John Mitchel’s 0-05 to Dromid.

Second half got going and Dromid bought it back to level pegging with 0-06 to both sides. After the second water break Mitchel’s were down by 2 and also down a player due to a black card. The men fought hard in the second half but Dromid came out the Stonger in the last quatre to pull away with victory and the score ending on John Mitchel’s 0-11 to Dromid 1-14. Hard luck boys.
