UNDER 7 BOYS & GIRLS

We had a fantastic training session Easter Sunday.  Despite the bad forecast we trained as normal indoors in the hall.

We had a great turnout and we finished the session with Easter eggs for the boys and girls. A super effort was put in by all with everyone deserving of their chocolate.

Finally, a very special welcome to Eugene and Olexi, from the Ukraine, who took to Gaelic football with supreme ease.

We will train again next Sunday morning at 11am, at our Ballyseedy complex,  and as ever all new members are very welcome

U8/U10/GIRLS

The wet morning did not put off our group of under 8s who had a match against our under 9 boys’ team on Sunday last.

Our team of Amy, Aoibhean, Suin, Nancy, Siabh, Lauren, Mia and Orlaith were excellent as were the boys who are a credit to their coaches.

The girls are really improving week to week so keep practising girls.

The under 10 girls had a fantastic game against the under 10 boys on a wet and windy morning. Some great football was played by both teams but the girls really stood out and put it up to the boys.

Midfield was dominated by Ava and Millie. Forwards were always ready and great scores from Áine, Roisin and Emma. The backs were kept on their toes and stuck with their players throughout.

Well done to Ava, Peggy and Natilie and our goalie was very impressive with her kickouts –  well done Aoibhean.

Everyone ended their session with an Easter Egg….a lovely treat after some great games.

U12 GIRLS

Training commenced in the heavy rain on Sunday morning. The girls are preparing fortheir next game home against Currow at 7pm. Please show your support

U14 GIRLS

After a tough game against Ballyduff last week in the County League, the team have qualified for the County League quarter final against Spa of Killarney.

This game takes place next Sunday in Spa at 5pm, and we wish the girls the best of luck in the game.

Training this week takes place on Monday and Thursday from 6-7 and all players are asked to make every effort to attend, given the importance of the game coming up.

U16 GIRLS

U16 ladies have a break from county league games until May 3rd when they will face Castlegregory in Tralee. This Tuesday the team are having a high intensity strength and conditioning box-fit class at Tralee boxing club at 7.30pm, and regular training resumes again Friday evening at 7.00pm.

All newcomers are always welcome.

UNDER 9 BOYS

This Sunday saw our players accepting 2 challenge games from the U8 & U10 Girls.

Both the boys and the girls were well up for this in what were 2 highly contested games.

There were some great skills on show from both teams. After the games finished, all players were treated to Easter Eggs & all went home happy out.

John Mitchel’s Sunday Morning Juvenile Academy continues every Sunday Morning from 10.15am All Newcomers Welcome!!

UNDER 11 BOYS

We welcomed Dr Crokes to Ballyseedy on Thursday evening in the first round of the county league Division 1. Conditions were windy so both games were literally a game of 2 halves.

The U 11’s put in a brilliant first half performance with the wind and put their shoulders to the wheel on the second half against the wind to just about hold on against a valiant Crokes comeback .

Our U10s with the help of some of our U9’s played fantastic football and again showed why the future of the club is in good hands.

Fixtures: We play Ballymac away on Thursday 21 April at 6.30 pm. All support is much appreciated .

UNDER 13 BOYS

It was our B’s turn to have a rest this week, with the A’s playing a back game versus Killarney Spa on Thursday evening in Division 1 Phase 1 of the County League.

Conditions weren’t ideal and our lads were showing signs of rustiness in the first half. This, combined with a determined Spa side, had us on the back foot for periods of the first half, the visitors being unlucky not to have a few more scores on the board.

At the other end, we began to find our rhythm and a few well taken goals put us in control at half time.

Spa unfortunately lost a couple of players to injury early in the second half, which made our lads task somewhat easier.

We ran out comfortable winners in the end, with all panel members playing their part on the night.

Next Wednesday evening we see  the As face off against table toppers, Legion, in Killarney.

The following Sunday both teams play Dr Crokes at home, so a big week ahead! All support welcome for both games.

Training continues on Monday at 5pm – with such a big week ahead, full attendance is a must.

UNDER 15 BOYS

Wednesday last saw us away in our third game of Div 1 to Spa Killarney where we started off very slowly and made a lot of needless errors which resulted in conceding a number of scores. We regrouped at half time and came out fired up for the second half.

We picked off a few fine scores and defended a lot tighter and better. Spa Killarney are a strong physical team so winning the second half was vital. We outscored the opposition by a large margin but not enough to secure victory.

Final score spa killarney 5-10 Mitchel’s 3-12
