UNDER 7 BOYS & GIRLS

We had a great training session Sunday.  The boys and girls trained with great enthusiasm and all had a very enjoyable session.  The emphasis today was kicking. The day was rounded off with ice cream for the boys and girls as part of our Pieta House Fundraiser.

U8/U10/GIRLS

We had another great turnout on Sunday morning in Ballyseedy. The girls took part in some great drills practising there handpassing, tackling, and soloing. It is clear to see the girls are practising at home each and every girl is showing great improvement which is delighting the coaches.

Keep up the good work girls. The girls enjoyed a much-deserved ice cream after training as registration was taking place for the upcoming walk for Darkness into Light. Please show your support for this great cause. Training continues next Sunday at the new time of 10.30.

U12 GIRLS

U12 girls had a great match vs Duagh during the week, following a slow start we had a very good second half, just coming up short on the night. We now play our old rivals Kerins O’Rahillys in a final at home on Wednesday 4th at 7pm. We had a very good turnout at training on Sunday great to see all the effort at training.

U14 GIRLS

This included taking part in the Feile u15 competition, on Bank Holiday Monday, with the Mitchels team taking part in the Division 2 competition which was hosted at home in the Mitchels complex in Ballyseedy. UNDER 11 BOYS

We travelled to Killorglin on Thursday evening to play Laune Rangers in Round 3 of the County League. Both teams put in their best display of the year and played outstanding football. There were some fantastic individual and team scores from both teams. Well done to all players and big thank you to parents for taking the time to get their kids to Killorglin.

Big thank you to Colm and all the Laune Rangers players for 2 very sporting games. We play out town rivals Austin Stacks in Ballyseedy on Thursday night at 6.30, all support greatly appreciated.

UNDER 13 BOYS

Our u13 A team faced off against Dr Crokes in Phase 1 of Division 1 of the County League on Sunday. Following a heavy defeat for our Bs against the same opposition the previous week, we were expecting a tough challenge this week.

In spite of playing with the wind in the first half, we struggled to find our groove and went in only 3 points to the good following a determined display by the men from Killarney and some sloppy play in admittedly tough conditions.

Our lads knew they had to up it for the 2nd half and up it they did in fine style, picking off some great scores even playing against the wind. A good display overall, getting our lads back on track and ready for the final game in Phase 1 next Sunday vs Keel/Listry. A great win for John Mitchels. Well done to all.

Training continues Wednesday at 7pm and Friday at 8pm. Full attendance required

UNDER 15 BOYS

On Wednesday evening last we played An Gaeltacht in our final game of Division 1. We were up against a physically stronger team but our boys stuck with the task in hand and played some excellent football losing out by a couple of scores 2-12 to 12pts with an overall great team effort.

Saturday brought us to Listowel for the Féile qualifiers. In our first game we lost against Churchill by 4pts and in the second game Listowel Emmets won, again by a four point margin. Well done to all the players on the day. We train again Monday and Friday 5-45pm to 7pm. We have Firies way Wednesday evening in the shield semi-final. Na Misteallaig Abu

We played Annascaul last Sunday in the county league. We started off strongly and hit the front with excellent scores from Alan o Donoghue and Cian Holden as well as an excellently taken goal from Alan O’Donoghue to lead by 5 points after 10 minutes. We continued to play excellently throughout the first half and the highlight was the score getting from Shane O Connor who got 6 excellent points from play. We lead at half time 1-10 to 0-05.

We continued excellently in second half and added good scores from pat Kearney and Mikey Walsh and ran out easy winners 1-16 to 0-11. It was good to see young lads getting their debut and to see Jonathan O Halloran making his comeback on the field. Well done to all involved.
