UNDER 7 BOYS & GIRLS

The under 7 boys and girls had a great training session Sunday morning. Numbers are improving each week which is fantastic.

The weather held out for the boys and girls so they all went home happy.

We look forward in seeing you all again next week

New players are always welcome.

U8/U10/GIRLS

We had another fantastic turn out on Wednesday evening last.

After an excellent warm up the girls got straight into drills starting with kicking which is improving no end.

We introduced a new tackling drill which the girls took too very well, which was very evident in the game which was very keenly contested.

Keep up the good work girls.

Training again next Wednesday at 6.30 .

Under 12 girls team.

U12 Girls.

The U12 county league fixtures are coming thick and fast for our U12 girls and even though results aren’t going our way ,

the improvements are visible for all to see and the spirit and atmosphere within the group is excellent.

The intensity at training has picked up as well recently and we are very proud of this group of girls.

They constantly give it their all and never give up on the field.

Our next game in the county league is against Southern Gales, and we will face the girls from South Kerry at home in Ballyseedy on Friday night the 10th of June at 7:15 pm.

The players from last year’s successful u12 team were presented with their medals and new tops  by senior ladies and  member of the National League Division 2 winning Kerry squad this year,  Anna Murphy

A fantastic gesture by the club and the players were delighted with the new tops.

U14 GIRLS

John Mitchel’s u14 girls hosted their counterparts from Firies in Ballyseedy on Sunday and it proved to be a hugely productive game, winning by 6-8 to 1-5 in a comprehensive performance by the whole squad.

The team started early with a point from Kerri Falvey, followed by a goal from Claudia Duffin and another goal from Ellie Reidy Feehan, with Kerri grabbing another.

Mitchel’s were well on top, but Firies mounted a comeback and scored 1-2, before Mitchel’s finished off the scoring to lead 3-2 to 1-2 at the break.

An early point from Firies was responded to quickly by Mitchel’s, with Ellie Rahilly goal

Mitchel’s took over and with the substitutes producing the same effort and result, we saw 1-1 from Ciara Harris, another goal from Kerri and closing points from Bridget Stewart and Chloe O’Brien to seal a comprehensive win.

It was a busy day for the squad, as earlier that evening the players on last year’s successful u12 team were presented with their medals from what had been a hugely successful season.

They were also presented with a picture collage of their winning teams from the various competitions last season.

It was followed by a presentation of new half zip training tops to all the girl’s teams in the club. A fantastic gesture by the club and the players were delighted with the new tops.

Training continues next week for the players, with parents to get notification on next week’s training and game times.

Our younger boys got on top early against a youthful Keel and put in their best performance of the year so far.

Well done boys. We train Sunday morning at 10.30am to 11 45 am

Our As were also up against Na Gaeil, always looking comfortable on a final score of 5-13 to 1-12.

On Wednesday evening, Firies As were the visitors and in a ding-dong battle, the men from Farranfore came out on top.

SENIOR MEN

We played Listowel today in latest round of county league. Listowel raced into a lead of 1-4 to 0 after 15 mins.

We came into the game and added great scores from Shane O’ Connor and Alan O’ Donoghue and we traded scores to leave 1 goal in it at half time

Listowel 1-09 Mitchel’s 0-09

We started strong in the second half and drew level with a goal from Mikey Kelliher. We then added a goal from Niall.

Sheehy to draw three points up but we missed numerous opportunities to add to this tally and Listowel grew heart from this and added a goal 10 minutes to go to draw level.

Listowel finished the stronger and finished deserving winners on score line.
