UNDER 7 BOYS & GIRLS

We had a fantastic session Sunday morning with the highlight being dodgeball with some of our senior players volunteering to be the targets!

Certainly it was a winner with the boys and girls.

We has particular emphasis on our skills today with some excellent solos and kicking evident.

Training continues next Sunday at 10.30am and new members are more than welcome.

.

U8/U10/GIRLS

We continued our mid week sessions on Wednesday last.

The girls were outstanding as we focused on kicking for the session and the girls improvement is obvious.

We ended with a very well contested game where the tackling and team work on show was very pleasing for the coaches.

Keep up the good work girls!

The Mitchels U8 girls played 2 x 6 sided matches against St Pats of Blennerville.

All the  girls put in very strong performances. A few of the U7 girls helped out in the matches also.

The drills in the training sessions are definitely evident and the team work was excellent. Keep up the good work and attendance. Thank you to everyone involved.

The U10s  hosted St Pats on Sunday on a perfect morning for football.

Our girls took a few mins to settle but soon got going in a very evenly contested game.

All the girls played really well and it is great to see the hard work in training paying off.

There was some great football on show and the coaches are very proud of all the girls who are a credit to the club.

U12 Girls.

The John Mitchel’s under 12 girls played their fifth game in this season’s County football league against a very spirited and tough Southern Gales team last Friday evening.

The wind made playing conditions very difficult but the girls managed to go in at half time one point up after playing against a very stiff breeze in the first half.

We began the second half very brightly and scored a goal and three points without reply,  which put us into a commanding lead which we would not relinquish.

Congratulations to all the girls for a great performance. The coaches are extremely proud of you all.

We play Na Gaeil next Wednesday evening away from home.

The game throws  in at 7 PM and we will gather in Na Gaeil pitch at 6:30 PM.

Please remember to bring water and gum shields are mandatory.

Looking forward to seeing everyone on Wednesday.

U14 GIRLS

After a successful previous weekend where the John Mitchel’s u14 girls team defeated Firies, the spirits were high when training resumed on Thursday.

Resplendent in their new training tops, the girls put in a tough session, ahead of their trip to Kenmare on Monday evening to play Inbhear Sceine Gaels B.

Thursday night was also the last training session for one of our stalwarts, Isabel Tynan Daly, who is moving to Athlone with her family.

Isabel is a key player for the team and everybody will miss her, both on and off the field.

We wish Isabel and the family all the very best into the future and look forward to them visiting us again in John Mitchels.
