UNDER 7 BOYS & GIRLS

There was a break from training Sunday morning so everyone could support the Kerry boys in the all-Ireland final in Croke Park

Training continues next Sunday at 10:30am and new members are more than welcome!

U8/U10/GIRLS

Training took a break Sunday due to the All-Ireland final so we will resume the following week.

Training days and times will be sent out to parents in due course.

U12 Girls

Training continued for our 12 girls this week and we had two excellent sessions with the squad.

We have increased the intensity of the sessions and added in a lot more ball work in to the training and the girls have really responded.

We are still waiting for our fixtures for the upcoming Tralee Town league and we are hopeful that the extra work in training will pay dividends at the end of the competition.

We will train this week on Wednesday from 7-8 and again on Sunday morning at midday and we look forward to seeing everyone.

U13 Girls

Our U13 Girls played outstanding football on Saturday and made it through to the 2022 Sandra Keane memorial shield final which was hosted at our complex In Ballyseedy.

The tournament, which is run by the North Kerry ladies football board, has been a massive success since it was first initiated in 2013

We played with incredible heart and commitment and some of our scores on the day were a joy to watch.

We beat Ballymac in a very entertaining semi-final after emerging from a really strong group which contained  Abbeydorney, Firies and Dingle.

We faced CastleIsland Desmonds in the final and when the full-time whistle blew both teams couldn’t be separated.

It was decided that the game would be decided by a golden score and when we lost the coin toss and had to face a really strong breeze it made it very difficult.

Congratulations to CastleIsland Desmonds.

It was a great experience for our U13s and coaches on the day,  Sharon, Karen, Denis and Brian are extremely proud of you all.

U 14 girls who faced Dr Crokes on Thursday evening in Castleisland.

U14 GIRLS

Our u14 girls were defeated by Crokes this evening in a lively Div5 A final in Castleisland.
We were game from throw in and started well but you can never keep the Crokes down too long and at half time we found ourselves down by 3 points with a lot of damage done by their number 9 whose foraging runs kept our defence on our toes.

We fought well with some lovely points and our goals from Kerri Falvey and two goals from the sprightly Ciara Harris at corner forward ensured Crokes didn’t have it all their own way.

Goalie Grace Regan was a colossus saving a penalty and keeping some attacks at bay frustrating the opposition and ensuring we were still in the game.

We found ourselves two points down with time up and a last second free 30 yards out unfortunately went wide and the ref blew the whistle.
Unlucky girls but what a never say die performance.

Well done to you and all thanks to the coaches and parents who came to support and of course Dr. Crokes GAA for a sporting game of football
We will be back!!!!! Up the Mitchels
