The games were played in great spirit in glorious sunshine.

Many thanks to Milltown/Castlemaine for organizing a great event and for the invite.

On Sunday we trained in our complex   in Ballyseedy, again in glorious sunshine.

We had a super turnout and some great fun.

It was indeed a busy weekend for our boys and girls.

We train again next Sunday at 10.30. New members welcome

U8/U10/GIRLS

U12 Girls

We played our second Tralee town league game against St Pats, away in Blennerville last Tuesday evening.

It was ideal conditions for football and the girls made use of the perfect pitch to turn in a brilliant performance and record our second victory of the competition.

We now are through to the Tralee town league Div 2 final and await the winners of Na Gaeil and St Pats.

We will take a break from training this Wednesday to allow the girls to recover after the rigors of the Abbeydorney blitz which was played on Sunday.

Thanks to Abbeydorney ladies GAA for organizing a brilliant day. The girls gave a great account of themselves and played some fantastic football over the 3 games.

Training resumes on Sunday at 12 midday. Please bring water and gum shields.

U16 GIRLS

John Mitchels u16 ladies were in North Kerry league action on Monday evening away to Castlegregory.

The game started off at a really good tempo and there was some really smart football on show. However, due to an unfortunate coming together of players just before half-time, one of the Castlegregory players went down with an injury to the lower rib cage.

With the player unable to move, the ambulance services were called, and the fixture was abandoned.

The game will be rescheduled in due course.

John Mitchels coaches and players would like to send our best wishes to the injured party and wish her a speedy recovery.

Training continues mid-week, date and time yet tbc.

UNDER 11 BOYS

Our younger boys (U10) are scheduled to play in the Miltown Castlemaine blitz on the 2nd of October- details to follow next week.

An epic battle in Connolly Park saw our u13 B squad defeat Stacks 2-14 to 3-4 Central League 1B Champions.

UNDER 13 BOYS

Central League 1B Champions

An epic battle in Connolly Park saw our u13 B squad defeat Stacks 2-14 to 3-4

Stacks stated the brighter with their big number 15 bursting the net after only a few minutes on the clock – we steadied ourselves and after a real tit for tat first half it was all level at half time

The second half was where we really put a stamp on proceedings and despite stacks scoring another goal, we really got into our flow scoring some lovely points

Our defense was immense and created the platform for our forwards to do their thing with some lovely movement from midfield through the lines into scoring positions.

Well done to all the boys and mentors on the night

Training continues next week (day and time tbc) with both the As and B’s still involved in the town league.

UNDER 15 BOYS

We have qualified for the central league u15 final beating Milltown, in the other semifinal we await the winner of Churchill v ,Sneem/Derrynane,/Templenoe/Tuosist time and date to be confirmed.

The town championship starts in a week or so where we face Ballymac in the semifinals.

We train every Monday and Friday 5-30pm under the watchful and very knowledgeable eye of Thomas Kearns full attendance required.

Huge Congratulations to John Mitchels players Darragh Field, Luke Hannafin, David Sargent & Sean Sargent who won the U14 North Kerry Hurling League with @traleeparnellsgaa

UNDER 17 BOYS

Defeat for our minors away to Firies on a score of 2-11 to 2-9
Down one or two with injuries, we started very well, taking the game to Firies and we found ourselves up by six and playing with purpose.
Firies though, bouyed by a goal after half time, kept at it and clawed their way back to level and then then go 3 up. We tried our best to come back but, on the night, the little luck that we needed alluded us.
Well done to Firies on their victory.
Unlucky to our mentors and boys on the night.

Training times and days to be confirmed.

Stay tuned for more information.

SENIOR LADIES

Our senior ladies played Aunascaul / Castlegregory Sunday morning in castle with ideal conditions, both teams got off to a great start exchanging points with our first score from Rachel to open our account, A/C we’re moving the ball well, but our defense held tough to keep the scoring to a minimum leaving the half time score 1-4 to 0-3.

Second half continued in whirlwind fashion with the ball going end to end with both sides guilty of Wides, but in a very entertaining game which determined semifinal places the pace was hectic.

With AC finishing stronger to come out on top on a score 3-9 to 0-08.

The senior ladies now face Ballymac next Sunday in the championship semifinals.

Unfortunately, we sustained further injuries today in a very hectic schedule after 5 weeks in a row playing, well done ladies

More details to follow please show your support.

SENIOR MEN

The Senior men are waiting to play the town league final V Keirns O Rahillys.

JUNIORS

Our 2nd Senior team turned out a fine performance against Castleisland in the Shield final last Friday evening. J

Just going down on a score line of Castleisland 1-15 Mitchels 2-09 Castleisland started the stronger, but Mitchels kept in touch going in at half time.

Castleisland 0-8pts Mitchels 0-4pts second half turned out to be a good flowing game from both sides, Mitchels showed true grit and heart drawing the game late in the half however we came up short in the end on a score line of 1:15 to 2:09.

We look forward to our Tralee /St. Brendan’s final against Neighbours Ballymac tbc.

Please stay tuned.
