U7 BOYS AND GIRLS

Our under 7s were back to training Sunday morning, indoors, in our ballyseedy complex. It was brilliant to see our all young footballers again and indeed we were joined by some new faces which was great to see.
The boys and girls got back to basics and it was as if they had never been away.
Some superb displays of the solo and kick passing were demonstrated and it’s fair to say  that everyone has made significant improvements since last year.
Training continues next Sunday morning at 11am in our ballyseedy complex.  As ever, new faces are welcome to attend

U8 AND U10 GIRLS

great training session was had and all are looking forward to next Sunday morning again with coaches John , Mike and Dave. Training next Sunday at 9-45am sharp.
New players always welcome.

U12 GIRLS

Sunday Training for our Under 12 Girls has returned to the Normal Time of 12pm till 1pm.
We had a good outdoor session on the Astro Turf Pitch with the girls practicing hand passing, core fundamental movements and we finished the session off with a mini game to test their skills.

U14 GIRLS

Training is continuing for the John Mitchels u14 girls twice a week on the Club astro, with a great turnout on both nights.

The work put in by the players over the winter months at the Strength and Conditioning sessions has really paid off, with the players very sharp and at an advanced level of fitness for this time of season. In addition it helped to bring the new players who came up from u12 to settle in with the group.

The plan for the next couple of weeks is to continue training and to arrange some challenge matches ahead of the start of the County League.
Given the numbers attending training we are planning on entering 2 teams in competitions this year.
New players always welcome.

U16 GIRLS

Super session Monday, 20th February 22 girls at training worked on Fitness, soloing and keeping possession.
Friday pitch session attendance was poor worked with what turned up focusing on shooting, added challenges and competition.
Turnout for S & C has been great and both beneficial and motivating for the girls.

We started the session with a good warm up & then we practiced our skills which were very good by all our boys even after the winter break.
Training continues next Sunday from 9.45am to 10.45am All Newcomers Welcome & please don’t forget to bring water & Gumshields.

U15 BOYS

Last week on Wednesday saw the u15 panel back on the pitch for training which was headed by Alan O’Donoghue we had good numbers for the first night with a really good session.
On Friday evening we had a low enough turn out but  the session was taken by senior player Tomas Kearns who put the boys through their paces. We need all players to attend training going forward as we prepare for the season ahead.

We train every Wednesday and Friday evening 6-7try and get there about 10min before training starts to ensure we get the maximum out of each session.
There are plenty of coaches involved this year with the u15’s so the variety of sessions will benefit every squad member going forward.
Training continues Wednesday evening 5-50pm full attendance required bring gum shields and water.

Minors

Our Minors had a  long  trip away to St Michaels Filemore on a fabulous Saturday afternoon.
They traveled by bus and once arrived got stuck into their warm up.
It was a fantastic day for a game of football as the weather was just right.
Unfortunately the minors didn’t come out victors and also suffered a few more injuries everyone gave it their all and never gave up.
Stay tuned for details of their next outing and thanks to all supporters who made the long journey also.

Captain Michael Walshe who played against Na Gaeil on Friday night under lights

Senior Men

Our senior men  captained by Michael Walshe played their 3rd game in town league home to Na Gaeil under lights on Friday night at 8pm.
Conditions were great for a game of football where it saw Mitchels take the lead 16 mins in  to a score line of 1-04 to 0-02.
Some fantastic football was on display by both teams and John Mitchels going into the dressing room at half time level on the score board.
Some great scoring was had in the second half and the crowd enjoyed watching until the end.
Final score saw John Mitchels come out as victors with  a score line of 2-12 to 2-09.
