Senior Men

John Mitchels 0-11
Annascaul 1-09

Our seniors made the journey to Annascaul on Saturday evening for a 6.30pm throw in. Mitchels didnt get off to a good start and trailed 01- 1-01 in the first 10 minutes of the first half.
It took another 8 minutes for the next point to be scored which unfortunately was  in Annascauls favor bring the score line to 0-01-1-02 at 22 minutes in.

A few more scores were added to the board which only saw a difference of 3 points by half time at 0-03 to 1-3. Mitchels narrowed the gap 10 minutes into he second half bringing the score line to  0-07 to 1-05 only a one point game with some great football by our boys.

John Mitchels kept chipping away and the gap throughout the second half was only 1 to 2  points. Unfortunately Annascaul kept on ploughing on and the final score was John Mitchels 0-11 Annascaul 1-09.

Under 6 & 7 Boys and Girls
We had a fantastic Easter Sunday at our Ballyseedy complex on Sunday morning.
Our boys  and  girls at under 6s and 7s all joined together for a fun session this morning.

We had multiple fun games,  dodge ball and stuck in the mud being the favorites.
Skill emphasis was on catching and kicking today and the boys and girls were fantastic.
The session culminated  with the presentation of Easter eggs. An acknowledgement of their hard work.

We will train again next Sunday morning at 11am in our ballyseedy complex.  As always,  new members are always welcome

.

Under 8 and 10 Girls
Our u8 & u10 girls had a good turnout for Sunday morning training. A quick warmup followed by kicking, passing and possession drills, and shooting game. Everyone had great fun with some fantastic skills on display and we are looking forward to next Sunday morning’s training. Also the Easter Egg surprise went down really well.
Training next Sunday at 9-45am sharp. New players always welcome.

.

Under 12 Girls
The U12 girls were able to use the main pitch at the complex on Thursday night. This meant the girls were able to practice their kicking skills with their goals . A very competitive match ensued.

On Easter Sunday morning the girls took to the astro pitch where we were pleasantly surprised to have such a good turnout considering the day that it was. We worked on our soloing & team building.
Training every Sunday 12-1 & Thursdays 7-8. Gum Shields Mandatory. New comers always welcome .

Under 14 Girls
After a hugely busy week last week with the Green and the Gold teams recording wins over Finuge St Senans and St Pats respectively, the Easter holidays has seen a break in fixtures, giving coaches and chance to work on tactics and other adjustments, based on the early games.Training continues next week, with plans to have a challenge game with our u16s on Tuesday night.

Under 16 girls
The u 16 girls made the journey to Killarney on Monday evening where they faced a strong Legion Team. Conditions were ok and the game was very challenging.

Unfortunately Legion  proved too strong for our girls but they never game up the fight until the final whistle. After the game the girls went to the club to do a nutrition webinar with Gaelic for teens along with the u14s and senior ladies also present.

Training will be sent out to parents for next week so stay tuned as the girls prepare for the second round  of the county league. Next game is home to Moyvane/Duagh on the 19th of April time to be confirmed so stay tuned. We ask all girls to make training in the lead up to these games.

Under 9 Boys
The u9 boys had a great session working on hand passing soloing and kick passing. At the end of their session on Sunday they were treated to an Easter egg by the club. Great to see so many players attending each week . The coaches and team would like to send on condolences to Mark Mc Evoy Ciarán and Kaylem on the sad passing of Lorraine Mc Evoy. May Lorraine RIP X.

Under 11 Boys
This week our U11 boys travelled to Austin Stacks for our last game of the Tralee District League. After a tough opening period we showed what we were made of in the second half by battling for every ball, supporting our team mates and taking some great scores. All round, a great start to our season. Next week be begin our County Games at home to Killarney Legion.

Happy Easter!!

Under 13 Boys
No U13 games took place this weekend but both the Green and gold teams trained well off the back of a hard weekend last week, with mixed results.
The Gold team play this coming Tuesday evening and the Green team plays on Thursday evening, both games are away to Austin Stacks in Connolly Park.

Under 15 Boys

U15 County League Division 1 Round 2

A damp April  Monday evening greeted both sides as we entertained Dr Crokes at Ballyseedy. We sprung from the traps again with an early goal to settle us followed quickly by another point.

Although we were enjoying plenty of possession, the Green team were a little wasteful in the first half with some poor shooting and over elaboration resulting in missed opportunities. At the other the men from Killarney were keeping the score board ticking over to go in at half time only 5 points behind.

The half time instruction was clear, put the ball over the bar and the Greens obliged in kind, taking some impressive points and adding a goal to the tally. Dr Crokes never stopped battling to their credit and added a goal from a penalty near the finish but it proved to be just a consolation with the Greens running out comfortable winners at the end. The Greens now have a break, with a bye next week.
FINAL SCORE

John Mitchels 3-17

Dr Crokes 1-10

U15 Division 9 County League

.

The U15 Gold team had their first start of the season Friday  evening in Ballyseedy, with Kerins O Rahilys/St Pats providing the opposition. Despite playing against the wind in the first half, we started brightly and were it not for some slightly wayward shooting, should have had a few more scores on the board.

At the other end, our backs defended stoutly to limit the oppositions scores.
The Golds kept the pressure up in the second half, picking off some great scores to run out comfortable winners in the end.

\It was great to see some familiar faces from last year returning this evening to make their mark! Special mention also to the members of the u13 panel who made their u15 debut tonight and played their part in a great team performance.
Next game for the Golds is versus Kenmare away, date and time to be confirmed.

FINAL SCORE

John Mitchels Gold 7-15

Kerins O Rahilys/St Pats 2-5

Our Gold team had their second outing of the season with Glenflesk making the journey up to Ballyseedy. With the benefit of a strong wind in the first half, the Gold’s had built up a good lead by half time. The second half continued in similar vein, with our lads always looking in control. All credit to Glenflesk who never gave up, despite fielding out a very young side due to absences.

Two wins from two now for the Gold’s with next up being an away trip to Kenmare on next Friday evening, time to be confirmed. We will be in touch regarding next training and arrangements for the game.
