John Mitchels will be holding their first Monster Bingo at their fabulous complex at Ballyseedy on Sunday November 29th from 3pm-6pm.

This is a fundraising exercise by the Club and all support would be greatly appreciated. Prize money of €4,000 including a Jackpot of €1,000 must be won on the day.

If you can’t play on the day but would like to support this venture, you can still help us by pre-purchasing a book(s) at Reception in the John Mitchels Complex.

The books cost €10 or €15. All profit made on the day will be ploughed back into the Juvenile section of the Club.

SYMPATHY: It was with great sadness we heard of the passing of the late Leo Griffin. Leo, was of course, synonymous with both the Kerry and John Mitchels teams over many many years.

Indeed through his association with Kerry he became a national figure recognized the length and breadth of the Country.

He took his duties very seriously and played no small part in the County’s great successes over the years.

This contribution was well appreciated and honoured by players and officials of all generations at the Guard of Honour at his funeral.

The Mitchels Club was very close to Leo’s heart and he was a loyal supporter over his lifetime. In the 80’s Leo took part in the Lord Mayor of Boherbee fundraiser and raised much needed funds to aid club development.

Leo was a great Gael who loved the games, the language and the culture and music of the Country. It can truly be said  “Ni bheidh a leithead ann aris.” Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.

We extend our sympathies to his sister Cora and his many friends.

CONGRATULATIONS:
To Brendan O’Mahony Senior player and his partner Natasha on the birth of their baby son Luke.

U14 LADIES:
Our season came to a conclusion last Tuesday night when we played Na Gaeil under lights in Ballyseedy in the Shield Town League final.

Played in testing conditions this turned out to be a very competitive game with goals the order of the day.

Mitchels played against the wind and rain in the first half and were 4-4 to no score at half time.

Despite the mountain to climb our girls clawed their way back into the game with goals from Ruth, Ava and Rachel.

Pushing a very exciting finish to the match and in the end we came up short by a single score loosing 5-4 to 5-1.

It was a most entertaining match played in poor weather but a very sporting contest with both teams giving 100%.Well done to Na Gael on winning the match.

On the same night there was also good news as we were presented with the North Kerry U14 Trophy for North Kerry Division 2.
