U14 LADIES Co League Division 3 Quarter Final:
John Mitchels girls travelled to Glenflesk last Sunday evening to take on the home team on a balmy evening in ideal conditions. Glenflesk played with the breeze and very quickly raced into the lead with 2 goals and a brace of points before Mitchels replied with a point from Rachel Kilgallen.

Mitchels made a few positional switches and our backs and midfield began to gain control with Mikaela, Erica, and Nicole controlling the full back line and Tara in goals keeping Glenflesk at bay. Mitchels continued to press and a foul on Rachel led to a goal by the same player. Further points from Ruth and Kerry left us 2-8 to 1-5 down at the short whistle.

Second half saw Mitchels midfield of Simi and Kerry begin to take control with great support from Julie, Clara and Rachel in the half back line and superb ball into our full forward led to 2 Mitchels goals from Rachel Kilgallen.

Again Julie pressed forward with great interplay with Ruth and Julie finished to the net to make it Mitchels 4-7 Glenflesk 2-8. Erica went off injured and Glenflesk looked for the goal but our girls dug deep to win a famous victory.

Well done to all on a magnificent win. Tara, Mikaela, Erica, Nicole, Clara, Rachel H, Julie Captain, Simi, Kerry, Katie, Caoimhne, Ruth, Simone, Rachel K, Elizabeth, Melissa, Jennifer, Jessica, Ailbhe and Eimear.

Sam, Ted, William, Daragh and Cody showed great skill and kicked great scores in their games. Gerard, Daithi, Conor, Luke and Cillian worked very hard in the games and put in some great tackles showing their value to the team. Well done to all the other [players who were there on the evening we noticed all the good play and effort.
