MitchelsSENIOR TEAM – Division 1:
Round 7: Home to Legion (2nd July)
We played Killarney Legions at home in Ballyseedy last Saturday evening. Legions opened with three points and Mitchels dominated the remainder of the first half leaving the score John Mitchels 2-05, Legions 0-05. With Mitchels scores from Alan O’Donghue (1-01), Wayne Duggan (0-01), Niall Sheehy (1-02), Shane O’Connor (0-01).

Legion opened the scoring of the 2nd half with a point within the 1st minute of play. Mitchels were awarded a penalty in the 8th minute which was converted by Wayne Duggan which now gave Mitchels a comfortable lead of 8 points.

Unfortunately it was Legion that dominated the remainder of the second half leaving the final score John Mitchels 3-05, Legions 0-17.

Round 8: Away to Kilcummin (17th July)
Round 9: Home to Austin Stacks (24th July)
Round 10: Home to Dingle (14th August)
Round 11: Away to Kerins O’Rahilly’s (4th or 25th Sept)

SENIOR LADIES:
We were at home to a very strong Southern Gaels side on Friday last. With a large portion of our more senior ladies away at present it gave a chance to the younger members of the squad to shine, and they did not disappoint. Though we did not achieve the right result our ladies showed great fight and skill right to the end.
Training continues Tuesday at 7 o’clock with a home game again on Friday 8th July.

JUNIORS:
Following victory against Laune Rangers last week, the team have qualified for the semi-final v Beaufort, date & time T.B.C.

The Coiste Tra Li Junior begins this week, John Mitchels fixtures are as follows:
11/07 – Away to Austin Stacks
18/07 – Away to Na Gaeil
25/07 – Away to St Pats
18/08 – Home to Ballymac

MINOR TEAM:
The team have qualified to play Ardfert in the Town League Final. Date & time T.B.C

28/07 – Home to Keel/Listry
18/18 – Away to Ballymac

Best of luck to the Mitchels players who line out with the St Brendans Board team in the upcoming County Championship.

CONGRATULATIONS:
Congratulations to senior player Laurence Bastible who played with the Kerry Junior team who won the Munster Final against Cork on Wednesday last.

Congratulations also to Michael Kelleher and Ryan Ward who played with the North Kerry U-16 team who won the Munster final on Saturday last.

THANKS:
A big thanks to Brendan & Margaret of O’Mahony’s Bakery, Boherbee who sponsored refreshments for our visiting teams at the 2016 Feile.

U-16 LADIES:
Training on Tuesday at 7 o’clock with a game next Thursday. Details to follow at training.

U14 LADIES:
Thanks to all the parents and players who helped out at our Feile bag packing last Friday in Dunnes Stores, Horans Centre.

Our next competition is the North Kerry league which starts at the end of August so we will be taking a few weeks break from training so enjoy the holidays. Teamers will be sent out for the next training session.

Kerry U14s:
Rachel Kilgallen and Ruth Moriarty were part of the Kerry U14 Team who unfortunately lost out to Kildare in the All Ireland A final last Saturday in Nenagh. It was a great year winning the Munster U14A final and runners up in the All Ireland Championship and Blitz.
There’s more to come in the next few years.

TESCO COMMUNITY FUND DRIVE:
Tesco has nominated John Mitchels Club U6s and U8s as one of the community groups who they will be supporting over the next number of weeks in their shop in the Square, Tralee. You too can show your support by shopping in Tesco and placing your token that you receive to the nominated container for John Mitchels in the store.

LIDL LADIES GAELIC CLUB PROMOTION:
Lidl ladies Gaelic club promotion is now taking place. Please support our club by nominating John Mitchels ladies each time you shop at LIDL there is €1,000 to be won.

FUNDRAISER:
Please donate any unwanted Clothes and Textiles (clean re-wearable clothes, paired shoes, belts, handbags, curtains, towels, bed linen, soft toys are accepted) as well as Mobile Phones and Laptops (please keep these items in a separate bag). Where possible please donate at least 3+ bags – this really does raise much needed funds for our Club. Please drop items to the the Complex.

BINGO:
Our Bingo continues on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday nights. Bingo is a vital fundraiser for the Club and all funds raised from the Bingo goes directly back into the Club and all support is greatly appreciated.

SUNDAY MORNING CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE:
Juvenile training for 2016 continues on Sunday next in John Mitchels Centre of Excellence, Camp, Ballyseedy.

U6 BOYS AND GIRLS:
TRINING BACK TO NORMAL ON NEXT SUNDAY MORNING 10TH JULY.

U8 BOYS:
Well with the weather being so unpredictable during the week we decided to train on the all weather pitch on Thursday evening last where we started out with a nice warm up followed by some hand passing and soloing, drills and finished with a game. OUR NEXT OUTING IS WEDNESDAY 6TH JULY WHEN WE WILL HOST THE GO GAMES. PLAYERS TO MEET AT THE CLUB AT 6.15 p.m.
GAMES START 6.30 p.m. PLEASE DON’T FORGET GUMSHIELDS! !
