AWARDS NIGHT
John Mitchels boys and ladies teams held their awards evening on Saturday last in the Club rooms, John Joe Sheehy Road.
Guest of Honour on the night was Kerry Star Aidan O’Mahony. Club Chairman Matt Moloney welcomed all present and spoke about the successful year the Juvenille section of the club had, with the highlight of the year – the winning of the All-Ireland Feile by the U-14 boys team.
Juvenile Chairman Noel O’Connor drew the audience attention to the array of trophies that were on display on the night and thanked all the managers, mentors and players who represented the Club with pride throughout 2014.
Kerry star Aidan O’Mahony spoke about the tradition associated with John Mitchels and about the importance of sticking with your club.
He congratulated Blathnaid Cotter and Jade Powell who won All-Ireland medals with the Kerry U-14 ladies.
Aidan paid tribute to the U-14 boys on a fantastic year, he stated that the boys were now among a special band of players who had won Club All-Ireland medals. He encouraged the team to stay together and to stick with the GAA.
Aidan then presented the boys and girls with the following medals. U-12 ladies – Coiste Tra Li Championship North Kerry League.
U-12 Boys – Castleisland District League. U-13 Boys – Coiste Tra Li League. U-14 Ladies – Coiste Tra Li Championship.
U-14 Boys – County League, Kerry Feile, St. Brendan’s league, Castleisland District League, Coiste Tra Li League, All-Ireland Feile winners. U-16 Ladies – North Kerry league. U-16 Boys – Castleisland District League.

VOLUNTEERS NIGHT
The club volunteers had their annual get together on Saturday night last. Once again this was a great success with all present having a very enjoyable evening. Music on the night was provided by Gene Lacey and Club Chef John served up delicious food. Thanks to Pat who looked after everyone on the night.
CONGRATULATIONS
Congratulations to Senior Ladies player Shauna Hanafin who was part of the CIT team who won the Ladies HEC final on Tuesday last. Congratulations also to the Austin’s Stack Team on winning the Munster Senior Club Championship.

Best of luck to Cian Sheridan and Aaron O’Keeffe who play with CBS ‘The Green’ in the O’Sullivan Cup final against St. Brendan’s Killarney on Wednesday.
