KCFE And Gardaí Collaborate On New Programme Of Study

KERRY College of Further Education has officially launched a new Pre-Garda Programme of Study which will be delivered from next September.

This unique and innovative educational collaboration will be delivered with input from the Kerry Division of An Garda Siochana.

The Kerry Garda Division will provide a number of presentations, and collaborate in the organisation for a trip to Templemore Garda College.

Community Sergeant Eileen O’Sullivan has been instrumental in facilitating this service and Community Garda Aidan O’Mahony will be involved in providing a real-life insight for students on what it is really like to be a member of the Garda Siochana.

The aim of this programme, is that when Kerry College of Further Education Pre-Garda students graduate, they will be ideal candidates to apply and progress to the Garda Colleges for successful completion of the Garda Training Programme, subject to meeting the relevant qualification criteria.

KCFE believes this project will be of huge benefit to the applicants and to the Gardai as those genuinely suited and passionate about the career will emerge successfully from the programme.

Kerry College of  Further Education is honoured the Gardai in Tralee will assist with the college on this project, and the long-term benefits of this programme will be enormous.
