LADIES AND JUVENILE NOTES
As we are now in “Phase 2” of the roadmap to reopening we hope that you and your families are well.  Thank you again to everyone for volunteering with Strand Road and our efforts to help the vulnerable in our local community.

Following the welcome guidelines from Croke Park we are delighted to announce that our pitches will be reopening on June 29th, (Phase 3)
We look forward to welcoming you back as we navigate through the phases of reopening Strand Road and Ballyrickard pitches and returning to what we all love – Gaelic football.

There will be a number of changes to the way we train and play games and we will be asking everyone to familiarise themselves with the guidelines.

At present we are preparing for the return to training which will be non contact initially.

We will issue a timetable pertaining to teams which will be for “Phase 3.”
More details will be given to coaches before June 29th.
Please keep an eye on our Facebook page to see what’s happening. Texts will also be sent to keep everyone updated.

Our condolences to Marie Nix, her Dad Anthony, brothers Ger and John and extended  family on the death of her Mom, Betty Slattery (née Callaghan). You’re all in our thoughts and prayers.   Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam.

In round 1 of the Co. League we are away to Castlegregory on Wednesday, August 5th.

U18 GIRLS
In round 1 we are home to Currow on Friday, July 31st.

SENIOR LADIES
Due to the narrow window for adult  football it is proposed that we play the Championship on a league basis. This will maximise the number of games the KLGFA can provide to clubs. KLGFA executive understand that this is a change from championship structures already agreed and they have requested the support of the clubs for this championship format to take place for this year.

Monday will be the day set for Senior, Intermediate and Junior Championship

KLGFA know that these are exceptional circumstances and that there are a lot of unknowns still.
Guidelines, default times etc for each competition will be emailed in the coming days.

LADIES REGISTRATION
Details on how anybody who hasn’t yet registered can register will be sent out in the coming week.
No player injury scheme cover is in place and collective group training, regardless of where it takes place , should be discouraged until June 29th.

Much work is going on behind the scenes with the Juvenile committee and coaches having Zoom meetings regularly in preparation for the return to football. Everything will be done in accordance with the GAA  Covid 19 safe return to Gaelic games guidelines.

KERINS O’ RAHILLY’S SKILLZ SKOOL
We’ve taken a break for the time being.
Many thanks to Declan, Adam, Mattie and Erika for all their time and hard work they put into “Skillz  Skool.” It kept many a child happy. Thanks also to the parents who helped their children with their skills.

DONAL WALSH
Happy 24th birthday to Donal in heaven.
Donal in his quotes and stories reminded us that we should focus on the positives , ignore the negatives and that life isn’t so bad even though it may overwhelm us at times. Something we should all try and remember especially in the times we have now.

RUN4PIETA
We received a letter during the week from Pieta House thanking everyone in our community and club for their support.
They were overwhelmed on how it was embraced by everyone and brought communities together to create memories and more importantly awareness around Pieta.

111 Clubs/Groups participated .
25 Counties, as well as clubs from Spain and the UK
€815000 was raised.

Attached also was a press release, released last Friday,” due to the uncertainty surrounding Pieta, the support of Kerins O’Rahillys GAA Club has ensured that Pieta can continue to deliver its vital services to those who need us, from us all here in Pieta our sincere thanks.”
Well done to everyone!
