JUVENILE ACADEMY
It’s great to be back doing what we do best here in Strand Road …. looking after everyone from those who are knee high to a grasshopper up along the way to seniors.

Ballyrickard was a hive of activity last Sunday morning as our academy returned to training for  the first time  since the Covid – 19 pandemic hit. It was a special day for the players, their families and coaches as we all returned to what we love.
It was absolutely brilliant to see so many happy faces , full of enthusiasm ,  bouncing around with joy as they ran onto the pitches and met their friends and coaches. Some children were awake at 6.30a.m. wondering how long more before they were brought to training…

We decided to stagger our training times to keep within the guidelines.
Our U6 girls and boys will train from 10a.m. – 11a.m. for the time being as will our U8 and U10 girls.
Our U8 and U10 boys will train from 11.30a.m. to 12.30p.m.
This worked out quite well for us last Sunday and we also have opened our overflow car park.
We’re looking forward to seeing everyone again next Sunday morning and many thanks for your cooperation.
As always there were teas and coffees for parents and of course Sunday morningwouldn’t be the same in Ballyrickard without the treat after training.

U12 BOYS
Training continues in Ballyrickard on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6.15p.m.

U14 BOYS
Training continues in Strand Road pitch on Monday at 5.30p.m. and in Ballyrickard on Wednesday at 5.30p.m.

U16 BOYS
Training will be at 6p.m. on Friday in Ballyrickard pitch. Text will be sent with other day.

PROTOCOLS FOR RETURN TO PLAY FOR ALL CLUB MEMBERS
1.ALL parents/guardians of anyone under the age of 18 must have completed the education module:
https://courses.gaa.ie/Covid19ClubEd/#/

ALL players, coaches, admin, supervisors MUST ALSO complete this.
This only takes 20 minutes.

2. ALL parents/guardians of anyone under the age of 18  must have completed a health questionnaire for each child:
https://returntoplay.gaa.ie/

ALL players, coaches, admin, supervisors MUST ALSO complete this.

This can be either submitted online or with a hard copy .
People have had difficulty registering for the online questionnaire. We must remember that 1000s of people are doing this. When choosing a username think of something completely different.
Everyone will need to resubmit this BEFORE EACH training session and game.
This is one of the biggest things we will all have to get used to … completing and submitting the health questionnaire a few times a week!

Our Covid-19 supervisors are volunteers and it can be challenging for them so please come to training and games prepared.
NOBODY WILL BE ALLOWED ONTO A PITCH UNTIL YOU’VE COMPLETED THE ABOVE.

LADIES
After a strange few months, it was great to see the girls resume training last Monday.
This is our ‘new norm’ but everyone seems to be adapting quite well. It’s healthy to get out in the fresh air and play sport.
Everyone entering the pitch MUST abide by  protocols as set out by the LGFA and GAA.

1.eLearning module completed.
2. Health questionnaire completed and RESUBMITTED FOR EACH training session and game.
Hand sanitiser is to be used before and after training.

This can be either submitted online or with a hard copy .
Online is easier as the Covid supervisors for each age group can check before training.

Helpful hint: Set the alarm on your phone on the day of training to remind yourself.
Please have this done by 5p.m. Resubmit!

For anyone who hasn’t done it online a parent will have to come to training to sign the form each time.
NOBODY WILL BE ALLOWED ONTO A PITCH UNTIL YOU’VE COMPLETED THE ABOVE.
Unfortunately your daughter will have to be sent home to do this if not completed as this is one of the protocols on “Return to Play.” Coaches must also do this.

U12 GIRLS
Great numbers last week, keep up the good work everyone!
Training continues in Ballyrickard at 6p.m. on Monday and Friday.

U14 GIRLS
A great turnout for training last week. The girls are spoilt and have four coaches looking after them this year.
Training continues on Tuesdays and Thursdays in Ballyrickard at 6.30p.m.

U16 GIRLS
A happy bunch of girls enjoyed their first training session in months last Monday evening in Ballyrickard.
In late March we thought that we might not have any games  this summer so everyone is delighted to have a summer of football to look forward to, all going well.
Training continues on Mondays and Thursdays at 7.30p.m. in Ballyrickard.

MINOR AND SENIOR LADIES
We welcome back our minor and senior ladies on Tuesday evening for their first training session since lockdown.
Training will be on Tuesday and Thursday in Ballyrickard at 8p.m.

REGISTRATION
Everyone must be registered. Can everyone who hasn’t yet paid membership pay as soon as possible as this must be paid to the LGFA before the end of the month.

RAFFLE
We have a signed Kerry goalie away jersey to raffle. We intended earlier in the year to hold a quiz but unfortunately this couldn’t happen.
Tickets will be available at training sessions and during Juvenile academy. It will be €2 for one strip and €5 for three strips.
