JUVENILE ACADEMY
Ballyrickard was full of enthusiasm and excitement again last Sunday as our U6 girls and boys and our U8 and U10 girls trained from 10a.m. -11a.m. followed by the U8 and U10 boys who trained at 11.30a.m.
Training times are staggered at the moment to allow adequate time and keep within government Covid guidelines.

It was great to see an increase in numbers for all age groups and watch all the smiling faces as they not only learned new skills but got to catch up with friends and make new friends. This was while having fun and playing the game they all love and missed so much.
A warm welcome to our new girls and boys who joined us also.

Teas and coffees were provided for parents who also enjoyed a catch up with friends while maintaining social distancing.
It was lovely to see everyone coming together and enjoying their Sunday morning while still following the government’s guidelines that are required of them.

Huge thanks to our wonderful coaches for their continued commitment and support.

Just a few items to remember for next Sunday’s Academy:
1. Please ensure you have registered and completed the health questionnaire.
https://returntoplay.gaa.ie
If you’re having difficulty we can help out.

Remember to “RECONFIRM NO CHANGE “ in your child’s health status beforehand. This also applies to coaches and admin.
If anyone has any of the symptoms we kindly ask you to stay at home.

2. Everyone must use hand sanitiser which is provided on the grounds for your health and safety.

3. Each child must bring their own labelled water bottle to training.

MOUTHGUARDS
It is compulsory for everyone to wear a mouthguard during training and for games.
Our recommendation is to buy a good fitting ‘boil and bite’ mouthguard.
We hope to have  flavoured ‘boil and bite’ ones available at training next weekend-€5 each   approximately. Mouthguards also be purchased in any sports shop.

REGISTRATION
Anyone who hasn’t paid registration can pay next week during Juvenile Academy and the U12, U14 and U16 boys can pay after their training sessions. Thank you to everyone who has paid so far .

BRING A BUDDY!
Spread the word and encourage your daughters and sons to bring a buddy to training with them to try it!
Many benefits come with your child joining a team for both parents and children:
• Making new friends , having fun while learning and sharing  new skills.
• Becoming part of a community and club.
• Spending time with your children in a team environment .
• Exercise and fresh air.
• A little less screen time.
• Access to great training with qualified coaches.
• Your child will learn important values – Teamwork, Honesty, Discipline, Fair Play and Respect for themselves and others.

We look forward to welcoming you all again next Sunday.

U16 GIRLS
The girls and their coaches decided to take advantage of the fine weather last Thursday evening and hit Banna for a training session.
The girls didn’t know what to expect and were probably expecting a brutal, gruelling training session running up and down the sand hills. To their surprise they all had fun and enjoyed themselves. They finished up with a swim
and were laughing and giggling with all the fun they were having.
Word got round of the great fun they had and some of the minors  and U14s were wondering if they could join in next time.
Tricia, Damien, Aisling and Shannon want each girl to have lots of fun and to ensure that everyone is happy, safe and smiling. Their team values are teamwork, respect, friendship, fun and competitiveness.

The Co. League commences on Wednesday, August 5th when we are away to Moyvane. We are in division 4. The other teams in our group are Kilcummin, Castlegregory, Dingle/ Annascaul and Legion.
Our coaches are arranging challenge matches at the moment and are awaiting confirmation from other clubs.
