Another fun filled morning was had in Ballyrickard with all ages in our Juvenile academy and we also welcomed neighbouring club St.Pats Blennervile U8s . It was fantastic to play another team today for the U8s while following all necessary guidelines. We look forward to hosting more of these in the coming weeks for all age groups. For further details on these please keep an eye on our Facebook and twitter pages.

It is lovely  to see so many Children in their club colours enjoying the sport we all love so much.  The coaches are delighted to watch each child improve in all skills.  This week they have asked that they practice the hand pass drill with a family member, a friend or even off a wall outside. Huge thanks to our wonderful coaches for their continued commitment to volunteering each Sunday, if you are interested in volunteering please contact Adrian on +353 (85) 150 0199

It’s great to have an U18 competition for the ladies this year and to have a great panel of minors. Many thanks to the Co. Board who organised this as there’s a big jump from U16s to Senior Ladies . Now the minors have their own competition especially for their own age group.

JUVENILE NOTES

Kerins O’ Rahilly’s U8 Boys who hosted St. Pats last Sunday in Ballyrickard.

We had a very busy morning in Ballyrickard Sunday morning. Our u6 boys & girls and our u8 & 10 girls were first in action at 10am. They had a great morning and there is a noticeable improvement in their skills every week. At 11.30 the u8 boys welcomed our near neighbours from St Pats.  Three pitches were set up and both the kids and parents really enjoyed the football on display.  Many of the kids playing against each other are great friends in school so it only added to the fun. Thanks to St Pat’s for coming in.
The u10 boys were also put through their paces for over an hour and a few of them were in action again that evening with the u12s.

U12 Boys Phase 2

We started Phase 2 of the County league in a wet Pat Healy Park Sunday eveningagainst Moyvane. Inspite each player working hard and putting in a big effort we came up short and lost on a scoreline of 5-9 to 2-7. The game itself was a scrappy affair and the conditions made it very difficult to get a hold of the ball. Moyvane settled into the game better than us and controlled the majority of the first half.
We began the second half a lot brighter and dominated possession  for the majority of the half but could not turn it into enough scores. Moyvane defended very well in this period and added some scores towards the end to run out deserved winners.
Team as follows:

Jayden Collin,
Connor Donnelly
Ciaran Griffin
Sam Keane
Kevin Horgan
Ryan Oneykwere
Connor Cronin
Jude Lacey
Nick Lacey
Ruairi Kennedy
Cayden Roche
George Keane

The B team were also in action  v the same opposition. While we were missing a few of our regular players a few more of the u10s stepped up and did really well. We held our own at times but Moyvane were just a little bit too strong for us and won on a scoreline of 5-06 to 3-04.

Team as follows:
Kyle Kapper
Mark Hassett
Calum Lacey
Ryan Molloy
Cian Fitzgerald
John Horgan
Ben Pierce
Luka Fusco
Jamie O’Keeffe
Jack Brosnan
Tiernan Mullins

Our thanks to our two referees Conor Hayes and Daniel Bowler.

Next game is away to Keel next Sunday evening at 6pm.
Training as usual Tues & Thurs from 6.15 to 7.30

U14 Boys

Our U14s played Na.Gaeil last Thursday night in what turned out again to be a very entertaining game, but unfortunately we came out on the wrong end of a 2pt loss on a final scoreline of 5-12 to 5-10.We got of to a great start hitting early goals and playing some lovely football but as the half wore on Na.Gaeil started to pick of a few scores but we were still leading by 7pts at H/T on a scoreline of 5-4 to 2-6.Into the 2nd half and Na Gaeil hit 2 goals to our 3pts before the water break to cut our lead to 4pts heading into the last 15mins.Still leading by 3pts with full time almost up,Na Gaeil hit us for 1-2 in the dying minutes to snatch victory. A tough loss for the boys considering this was the only time Na Gaeil had the lead in the game, but hopefully this loss will stand to them in the future. We now await the start of Phase 2 which will hopefully start in the next week.

Team:E.Daly,C.Lynch,D.Aneke,S O Mahony,S.Cahill,B.Meehan,B.Pierce,R.Kennedy,R.Houlihan,J.Hoare,A.Horgan,T.Kennedy,O.Kerins,J.McCarthy,N.Lacey,C.Halloran.

U16s

Training continues for the boys on Monday and Wednesday evenings in Ballyrickard at 6pm.

Details of a challenge match next weekend v Douglas will be sent via text during the week.
Phase 2 is due to commence the first week in Sept but fixtures havent been confirmed yet.

We would ask all age group who have not yet registered to please do so as soon as possible. Forms will be available at training. Cost is €40 per child or €65 for more than one child (up to u16 for boys or u10 for girls). Insurance is part of registration so it very important its paid.

Also we are asking parents to please remember to reconfirm your child’s health status before EVERY TRAINING SESSION AND GAME. Spot check are being done and with the increase in numbers nationally the GAA are becoming very strict about this.
