On Saturday in Annascaul  our U12 girls performed brilliantly  to secure the North Kerry Shield.  Played in dry.  sunny conditions our girls got off to a flying start and led at the 1st half water break by 1-03 to 1-0 , the goal coming from Fiadh with points from Aoife and Aoibheann. By half time we had added another goal from  Fiadh.  In the 2nd half we faced into a stiff breeze but we were in control with further goals coming from Taylor with 1 and Taylor Kate with 2. Allie was excellent in goal as were Donna , Saoirse , Katie,  Sophie , Farah and Córa  in defence.  Saoirse and Taylor were on top in midfield. In the forwards  Taylor Kate , Fiadh , Aoife , Anna , Aoibheann and Caragh were outstanding. Aoibhinn ,  Kelly and Lexi added greatly to the big win. Final score

U16 GIRLS
On a windy evening in Páirc Uí Éalaithe, for the last game in the County League, our U16  girls lost out by one score in a nail biting finish. Aoibhín O’ Connor MacCarthy opened the scoring in the first 2 minutes but MKL Gaels, playing with a strong wind were quick with a reply and kept rallying throughout the first half to lead going in at half time.

KOR came back out looking and feeling confident but found it difficult to find a way past  the MKL Gaels defence.

The final waterbreak of the day couldn’t have come in a better time for KOR and some would say it came too late as only 8 minutes were left on the clock and 15 points down. The girls came in not thinking about getting a drop of water but to spur each other on and not lie down on home turf. If the man on the street told you the girls went out and scored 12 unanswered points in 8 minutes you would only laugh, but this was the case. Although the girls fell short by 3 points, management and parents were very proud of the girls. They never gave up.

Final score
KOR 5-05
MKL GAELS 5-08

Thanks to MKL Gaels for travelling into Tralee. Despite  losing, KOR had already booked themselves into the County Semi Final. We will meet Moyvane on Wednesday in Clounmacon @7pm.
Big game on Wednesday night for us as a win would put us in the final.
Best of luck to the girls, Damien and Tricia.

U14 Boys
We entertained John Mitchels last Wednesday evening in St.Rd.Having played each other only three weeks ago, when we had a 1pt win we knew this was going to be a tough game and the 1st half proved it with Mitchels scoring an early goal and were the better team in that half but credit to the lads as they battled hard and scored 1-5 with limited possession and with our backs under a lot of pressure we were still in the game at half time despite been 5pts down on a scoreline of 2-7 to 1-5.With an opportunity to regroup and a few positional changes at H/T we came out and played the best 30mins of football that they’ve played all season. From the throw in we dominated the 2nd half with our backs marking tight and breaking up attacks, our midfield dominating kickouts and supporting our defence and attack and our forwards linking well with each other and kicking lovely scores. At the final whistle we ran out winners on a scoreline of 5-15 to 3-10.Well done to everyone on an excellent performance. Next up is Tarbert away on Wednesday.
