JUVENILE AND LADIES NOTES

We hope everyone enjoyed their visit to Santa last Sunday. . Thank you all for ensuring everything went so well by being on time and following guidelines. It was so important that we did something this year for the children as it has been difficult enough for them. Thanks to Santa, Shirley, Nora and Caitriona for making it happen. Santa even took time out of his busy schedule to video call one family who couldn’t make it. There were so many happy faces in Strand Road. Photos taken will be sent on to you.

Our Advent calendar prizes are going down a treat and will continue until December 24th.

We have all been through an unprecedented year in 2020, one that we never could have foreseen and one that we hope will never be repeated. We in Strand Road rose to the challenge, and our amazing volunteers stepped forward to create a safe environment for our players to come together to train, play and socialise. Every team had at least one Covid Supervisor and attendance records were kept, check-ins completed and recorded, and hands and equipment sanitised. We are delighted with the fun games and activities that were run to keep our players active , engaged and very importantly socialising. Many thanks to all of the mentors,  Covid Supervisors , parents and everyone who enabled this to happen.

We are thinking of everyone who has had someone belonging to them pass away this year. You and your loved ones will be in our thoughts and prayers.

Thank you to our players,, coaches, parents, girls and boys  and Covid supervisors for your trojan efforts to bring joy and fun to the youth during this most difficult of years.

A happy and safe Christmas to our players, families  and volunteers . We look forward to being back as early as possible in 2021.

To all our Friends of Strand Road members we wish to extend sincere thanks for your loyalty and support since the COVID-19 crisis. It has been a challenging and exceptional year during which GAA activity and entertainment kept us grounded and somewhat normalised.

Throughout 2020 you provided unwavering support for our Strand Road Club and it is greatly appreciated. We lost some members during the Pandemic but know that many of them will return to us in 2021 when they can. As a mark of appreciation for the support we have received, the Executive has allocated€1,000 in prizes for our FOSR Xmas Draw made up of 5 x €100 and 5 x €50 one-for-all-vouchers and 5 x €50 ham-vouchers. We have always held a Christmas FOSR draw, but it is more enhanced this year to say a huge thank you to the membership. The Friends of Strand Road was formed in 2009 and it is broadly accepted that it is the financial back bone of the club. Its significance was really felt in 2020 when fund raising was not possible due to COVID-19.

Weekly Lotto Numbers: Currently Clubforce in Galway provide a platform to us whereby club officials receive a mail notification of our lotto result & winners every Monday night. It is quite helpful to get the info hot off the press! If you are interested in receiving the weekly notification, please respond back to me confirming so to allow us to release your e mail address to Clubforce for that sole purpose.

Clubforce has guaranteed us you will not be contacted by them for any other reason other than with the weekly KOR lotto results. They have also guaranteed your e mail address will be securely retained by them.
