ACADAMH NA nÓG

We hope that you and your family had a lovely Christmas and that everyone enjoyed  all the well deserved downtime. Santa was a busy man delivering pressies we heard to all of the wonderful children in Strand Road Club.

Despite Covid- 19, it has been a great year for our Academy. Our numbers have grown and the girls and boys got to enjoy our annual summer camp, training and even got to play games .

Each girl and boy brings their own attributes to the pitch. Thank you to the Moms, Dads and guardians for bringing your children to training and games. It has been a difficult year for all. Thank you for your support.

Thank you to our juvenile coaches for their time and effort throughout the year. Without them we wouldn’t have the growing academy we now have. Thank you also to our Covid supervisors- an extremely important and responsible job in 2020!

Unfortunately because of the times we are in we couldn’t have our annual get together in the club but please God we will have it to look forward to again in time.

Congrats to Kathy our outgoing juvenile secretary on her new position as secretary of Coiste Na nÓg Ciarraí. Kathy has put many hours into our Juvenile Club and knows everyone. This is a great honour for Kathy and is well deserved. She is more than able for her new position and we are all delighted for her. Best wishes to you Kathy.

Welcome to Claire Walsh our incoming secretary. Claire will be a very familiar face to many of you and her family have a long tradition with Strand Road Club.

A massive thank you to every person that helped and dedicated their time to our club this year. It was a challenging year with the impact of COVID but it was great to see some normality restored with the kids back down training and the limited matches our teams had this year.

The remaining Advent calendar prizes will be delivered in the near future.

We appreciate all of your support this year, it does not go unnoticed. A special thank you to our club members who gave so much extra to the club and our community because of the challenges of Covid – 19.

We remember those who have passed away and their families and friends involved with us. We especially remember our club President Micheál Kerins , ex chairman Danny Leane Snr. and of course Marie Nix who was taken far too early from this life.

CLUB GEAR
Many thanks to Dan Brosnan for dropping gear to us. As with everything else Covid caused delays and the courier company couldn’t deliver.
The remaining orders will be delivered this week. Anyone who wishes to wait longer can wait fo the courier service to deliver their package!

Happy New Year to all  and we will hopefully see you all in January. Fingers crossed that  all goes well over the next few weeks. Stay safe everyone and we will be in touch.
