Credit Union Division 1 County League Final

Kerins O Rahillys. 1-02

Dingle 2-16

The Division 1 County league Final took place in Paddy Kennedy Park Annascaul last Sunday . It turned out to be a very disappointing afternoon for the men in blue, as Dingle ran out easy winners in a contest that was decided long before the final whistle blew.
Following two early unsuccessful efforts from frees , Dingle raced into an early lead , a lead they would not relinquish .

The victors added to their tally as the half continued and led five points to one at the first half water break.
They continued their dominance and led 1-9 to -01 at the half time break, with our solitary point coming from a Barry John Keane free.
The second half saw little improvement from our point of view as Dingle added to their tally at will, while we continued to struggle. Dingle appeared to be the hungrier side winning almost every breaking ball and controlling matters in every position.

Midway through the second half a speculative ball into the square from Danial Bowler was well fetched by Gavin O Brien who found Cian Sayers and he finished to the Dingle net. This was to be one of the few highlights in an otherwise forgettable afternoon. Our only other score coming from Conor Hayes .

While we were comprehensively beaten the score would have be much more were it not for three or four great saves from Shane Foley in the O’Rahillys goal.
Even though we were short a number of regulars due to injury and inter county commitments , management will be disappointed with the below par performance from the players on show.

Team S Foley, D Buckley , P Begley, D McElligott, S Collins, C Coffey, C Sayers(1 Goal) G O Brien,T Hoare,G Savage,J Savage,S McElligott,G Dillane,BJ Keane(1f) C Hayes (1).
Subs used: D O Sullivan for G Dillane,R O Callaghan for S McElligott,D Bowler for R O Callaghan (inj),C O Sullivan for G Savage, A Lacey for C Hayes.

Juvenile Academy
We may have had a quiet week with fixtures but magical moments were had at our Summer Camp where great memories were made , fun and exciting times were had and girls and boys got to know each other better. Some will become lifelong friends. Children’s confidence grew in every way! It was lovely to see them have plenty of space to run around and have fun while making friends along the way.
Our dynamic club is always open to new members. For more details please contact Adrian (085) 186 3655.
U5 BOYS
This is where our young men, our “stars of the future“ are nurtured and start to blossom .
Sunday saw the players learn a few skills and enjoy some match  time . The weather didn’t dampen their smiles. Well done to everyone, you’re great lads!
Mason Tobin was thrilled to be one of our “Players of the Week.” Well done to you, you’re one enthusiastic young man.
Cian O’ Carroll was our other U6 “Player of the Week.” A timid young man when taking to you but not so timid on the pitch. Congrats to Cian.
U6 GIRLS
As always, the girlies had  the usual chitter chatter at the start of training… most important to catch up on each other’s news at the end of the week…
Sure isn’t this all part of it ! The girls then worked on a few skills with their positive, encouraging coaches before playing fun games. You’re an incredible bunch of young ladies .
Our U6 “Player of the Week “ was Holly McMahon – a wonderful young lady following in the footsteps of her older brother. Well done!
U7 BOYS

“Players of the Week “ last Sunday were Conor O’ Shea – a classy player and will definitely don our club colours in years to come. Nathan Walsh also received “ Player of the Week” – also a natural and looking forward to seeing him wear his blue and white also for Strand Road. You’re a great bunch of lads!

U8 Girls

.

Our U8 Girls welcomed NaGaeil to our club on Sunday morning. Both teams showed great talent and skills on the day. Thank you to Na Gaeil for coming to play us.  We also welcomed a new U8 girl to the team Arabella.
All the U8 girls and coaches would like to wish Lily all the best as she starts her treatment this week and we hope it all goes to plan and you ll be back on the pitch with your team mates.
U10 Girls
Na Gaeil came to Ballyrickard for a game with our U10 Girls. All showed great skills on the pitch and played a great game of football. Well done to all our girls and thanks to Na Gaeil for coming to us.
GO GAMES
First football games for the boys were hosted by Firies last Wednesday evening. A great display of kicking, passing, defending, tackling and movement. Their dedication at training is obviously paying off. The futures bright, the future is Blue and White.
Many thanks to Firies for hosting us where there was a fine show of blues from both clubs. Thanks also to the coaches and parents who are so encouraging. There was many a young man buzzing afterwards. We’re very proud of everyone.
SUMMER CAMP
Our much awaited and ever popular Summer Camp has come and gone ! Just over 150 girls and boys between the ages of 4 and 13 had a ball last week in Healy Park for our annual, fun camp filled with GAA and other activities. What a week everyone had , coaches included! We had a great bunch of kids and the weather was on our side. Thanks to our 14 coaches and our camp coordinator Declan Quill ( the big boss as one little girl called him)  for an awesome week.
Ice cream, crisps and prizes – what a fantastic way to finish an amazing week!
Thanks for the lovely feedback and messages we have received from parents and coaches, much appreciated!
THINKING OF LILY
Every parent and family’s worst nightmare is when their child gets ill. One of our young players 7 year old Lily Šebestova  was diagnosed with cancer recently.  Lily is beginning treatment in Crumlin this week. Can everyone please keep Lily and her family in their thoughts and prayers.
We have shared a GoFundMe on our Facebook page. Can you share with friends and family and if possible make a small donation.
Lily is tough out and it’s her wonderful smile and courage that keep her Mom and Dad going .
Lorraine and Dodi wish to thank everyone from the bottom of their hearts for their kind words, support and generosity . It’s at times like this that communities comes together to help each other.
Get well soon Lily, we are all here for you .
