The other age groups have more games to play in their various competitions.

Our Blues travelled over the bridge to our nearby neighbours St. Pats to play them in Rd. 1 of the Town League last Sunday accompanied by their coaches Rachel Hayes and Mary Clifford and of course their families who are always great supporters.

We were missing a few girls and some of our  young ladies had been training  at Juvenile Academy prior to the game .

Juvenile Notes

Over 150 girls and boys  participated in juvenile training throughout our various age groups from U5s up to U11s last Sunday morning. Brilliant numbers again considering that some of our youngsters received their First Holy Communion yesterday. Congrats and we hope that you all had a lovely day!

Thanks to our volunteer coaches, helpers and post training treat helpers Eva and Lauren , the children enjoyed a magnificent sun and fun filled morning , with just 2 short showers.
No doubt in the years to come the skills each and every girl and boy developed during their excellent training will stand to them in good stead when they come to represent their club on the playing fields of Strand Road and beyond. Team sports are great for developing social skills and making life long friends.

We are indebted to our super coaching team and their generous time and to all the parents for encouraging their children to participate.  The children’s exemplary behaviour throughout training always is a credit to you the parents.
Always remember “We can and we will, let’s make it happen! We in Kerins O’ Rahilly’s Juveniles are the best team ever .

U5 BOYS
Great fun as always during training… don’t know who enjoyed the laps around the goalposts during training more… the boys or the big boys Barry John Keane , Bryan Daly, Ger Moran and Eugie McGrath. ‘Boys will be Boys!’
Our ‘Player of the Week’ was Liam Sarsfield. Not only was Liam chuffed but his Great Grandad, Strand Road’s Johnny  Foley … a 1953 All Ireland medal holder was so happy also.

U6 GIRLS
The future of ladies football in Strand Road is bright with this awesome bunch of cheerful girls who are always full of high spirits. It would put a smile on your face and cheer you up if you were feeling in bad form to watch them…. May you never change girls and continue to look out for each other. Fantastic bunch!
‘Player of the Week’ was bubbly Jennifer Ahern who started primary school this year or as her Dad John said …Serving Minimum 14 years- Parole Hearing in 2035.

U7 BOYS
Our SUPER 7s ….what can we say! A joy to watch training with super skills . Some of the lads are extremely competitive already at this age.
Great enthusiasm from not only yourselves and your coaches but from your parents also. It’s wonderful to hear the boys sooo looking forward to Sunday mornings in Healy Park, Ballyrickard …. a boy’s great happiness and only something so small and simple.

Fun Go Games in Ballyrickard this Wednesday versus our neighbours Austin Stacks.
Last Sunday’s ‘Players of the Week’ were Jacob O’ Connor. Jacob’s family go back a long way in Strand Road and is a grandson of the late John ‘Walla’ O’ Connor who gave many starring and sterling performances on the field of play in the quest for honours for his club and county.
Our second ‘Player of the Week’ was Dominykas Plotnikova… a diffident young man when he started out but is now coming into his own with some great skills on the pitch. Well done to these young men.

U8 GIRLS
Amazing, determined, strong are only a few words the coaches would use to describe this group of girls. Every week they come to training the coaches can see huge improvements in all the girls and the massive effort they all put in at each training session.

This is why this week the coaches had to give three “Players of the week” this week they were Emily who has become confident in every move she makes on the pitch. Then we have Caoimhe who has mastered her techniques and skills down to a fine art. And finally Erin, Erin is turning into a fine footballer and we know will go far over the years. Well done to all the girls who turn up every week smiling and leave with even bigger smiles each week.

U9 BOYS
Fáilte ! A warm welcome to our new player Ankit Chakrabofty  who joined in with his new team mates last Sunday morning.
Training started with a fun warm up doing a few enjoyable core exercises and the odd few burpees. Great to see the boys encouraging each other. This is what it’s all about… team work. There is no “I” in the word team.
We are hosting Milltown in fun Go Games this Wednesday. Throw ins will be at 6p.m. in Ballyrickard’s main pitch. Enjoy!

U10 GIRLS
This week saw our U10 girls who came to training helping out and training with the U8 girls. They led the training session as laid out by the coaches to show the U8 girls their skills and techniques. They were kind and encouraging to each of the girls a d showed great leadership on the pitch when they were made captains of the teams at the end of the training session. Our U10 girls have all developed their skills to a new level this year. The coaches felt that there was three well deserved “Players of the week” for their continued improvement and enthusiasm they show each week they turn up. Huge well done to Sarah, Aoibhinn and Nicola each of you should be very proud of yourselves and we look forward to watching ye play for many more years to come.

U11 BOYS
We welcomed St. Pats in a return friendly game last Sunday morning. Both  teams gave an awesome display of football, with great teamwork and huge effort. Well done to both teams who played before a fine crowd of encouraging supporters and who were impressed with your football.
We have a policy of no grading of players at U11’s. This  will continue and we strongly promote the boys to play without fear and encourage them to have fun in their development

U13 & U15 BOYS
Both these groups of boys are continuing to train and develop their skills even further.  Each one of the boys turn up every week with a great attitude and give everything they have to improve their skills and techniques. Well done to each and everyone of you.
