Seniors: A break from competitive action this week with county league resuming next week end when we travel across town to take on Mitchels on Sat night ( 1st July)  in Ballyseede, throw in @ 19.30

We are still understrength due to injuries and some players in the US but with two points at stake this is a game which could go anyway. Your support as always would be greatly appreciated.

U-21s: Our U-21s had a great win in the opening round of the county championship when accounting for West Kerry in Castlegregory last Thursday night ( 22nd ) on a final score line of 3-17 to 4-11. First half goals from Daniel Nix, the outstanding Karl Mullins and Gearoid Dillane had us in the driving seat half time leading on a score line of 3-08 to 1-06. The second half saw us control the game and we ran out easy winners despite two late consolation goals for the West Kerry side.

Its Dr Crokes up next in the quarter final on Weds night next in Lewis Road with the home side favourites to advance but we will have improved for having our first round game under our belts and will be no pushover.

Minors: We play Shannon Rangers in Tarbert on Thursday night next 29th June @ 19.30 in a preliminary round with the winners to play Laune Rangers.

Collective training has been difficult to organise due to the leaving cert and its been a while since the team had a game.

However, Declan and his management team are hopeful of a good performance and will be looking to the likes of Seán Collins and Rory O’Connor in defence, Seán Griffin at midfield and the likes of Aaron Roche, Shane McElligott and Gearoid Dillane up front to put it up to the divisional side and hopefully advance to round 1. Beir bua agus beannacht.

Munster Final: Attention turns to the county scene next week end when age old rivals Kerry and Cork meet in the Munster senior final in Killarney at 2 pm.

We were all looking forward to our trip Leeside but the ongoing works in Páirc Uí Chaoimh will not be finished in time ensuring hostilities will once again take place in the shadows of the McGillicuddy Reeks – best of luck to our trio of David Moran,Barry John Keane and Jack Savage who will be hoping to put their best foot forward and see Kerry gain another success.

Five entrants for the special Christmas draw as follows: T J O’Connor, B & S O’Brien, Emer Hogan, Bomber and Mark Fitzgerald. Next week’s jackpot will be for €8,100 – thanks to all who support this important  weekly fund raiser.

Please note that it is the responsibility of each individual playing our club lotto via direct debit to ensure that direct debit is paid monthly to the club.

Sympathy: Sincere sympathy is extended to the wife Joan and family of the late Seán Kelly who passed away during the week ( father of our former county medallist Johnny) and to the family of the late Tony McElligott of Boherbee – ar dheis Dé go raibh a anamacha.
