Seniors: We have a two week break to our next league game when we travel to the Iveragh peninsula to take on St Marys in what is now a must win game in the battle against relegation; St Mary’s lie one point ahead of us on 8 points and this penultimate game gives both sides a chance to wrap up two precious league points and rest easy for their final game.

Strand Rd: Following on from our victory over Dingle in our final Group 1 game, we have now qualified for the final as we finished top of the table.

Dingle were overcome by Spa on Friday night last ( 28th ) in the semi final which now means we will play Spa this coming Friday night ( Aug 4th) in the final at a venue yet to be confirmed.

Spa have already beaten us in the opening game of the league but we would hope to have progressed since then and are in with a real chance of gaining success – fixture, once confirmed will be announced on Facebook and Twitter.

We play Austin Stacks this Monday night ( 31st) @ home in the Coiste Trá Lí town league in Strand Rd @ 19.30

Minors: Central Region minor league gets under way this Monday night ( 31st)  when we play Austin Stacks at home, again  in Strand Rd throw in @ 17.00

Kerry Seniors: Congrats to David, Jack & Barry John who all made big contributions to Kerry’s win over Galway on Sunday – we can sit back now and await the winners of the Roscommon/Mayo replay – here’s to the 20th of August.

Junior Blues: U-14 Boys Central Region:
We came away empty handed from Gallarus last Monday night in the semi final of the Central Region U-14 boys Division 2 competition but not before we had gamely taken the game to a fancied home team losing out by 4 points, 4-18 to 5-11.

We were the only team to beat An Ghaeltacht in the league proper and whilst the home side carried the favourites tag, we let them know early  that we were up for this game.

The sides were level 0-05 to 1-02 after 15 minutes but from here to half time the home side powered on to lead by 2-11 to 1-06 at the short whistle.

Anyone who thought this game was over was in for a shock as our lads showed  great spirit from the off kicking some great scores.

Jerome Daly and Eric McMahon were outstanding in defence and  goals from Darragh O’Connor, Sean Healy (2) and Ben O’Brien had the game in the melting pot as we only trailed by one point entering the final 5 minutes – the home side  were thrown a lifeline when the referee seemed to signal for a free out to us about 30  yards from goal but then waved play on, resulting in a goal for the home side – it was a cruel blow so late in the game and was the decisive moment in a great second half.

Well done to everyone and the lads can now look forward to the upcoming U-13 competition along with the Rose Cup.
