Strictly Club Dancing:
A capacity crowd rocked the Brandon Hotel for  a second year in  row as our Strictly Club Dancing took the place by storm providing a night of entertainment and fun for all present.
From the moment the dancers took to the floor for the group dance,  appropriately attired in blue and white,  the atmosphere crackled as the audience and the judges  were wowed by a rich mixture of old and new, contemporary and old fashioned  all woven together brilliantly by choreographer Jackie O’Mahony.

The sedate introduction from husband and wife Sam &  Locke was soon supplanted by the high kicking actions of Oliver Molloy and Kelly Ann Roantree who danced to the music of Michael Jackson and had the crowd in raptures; from here to the interval, there was hardly time draw breath as the action continued with many outstanding performances.

The second half too did not disappoint; the opening performers John Kelly and Cliodhna Hayes kept the crowd enthralled maintaining the high tempo of the night which was sustained by all the subsequent acts. If possible the ante was upped when Shane O’Sullivan and McKenzie Keane took to the floor in a stunning performance which left them both breathless at the end.

MC Deirdre Walsh was a competent and confident compere who brought the best out of the judges – Terry O’Brien, Rosie McGrath, Mary Gaine and Seán O’Sullivan  – who all contributed to the night’s entertainment in their own inimitable ways.

The popular vote winners were Oliver and Kelly Ann whilst the judges vote went to Shane & McKenzie rounding off a night to remember.

It was another memorable night where all dancers did themselves and their families proud, producing a show that was a credit to their dedication and commitment for the past number of weeks – roll on 2019!

Seniors:

No activity this week end so an opportunity  to catch up on training etc; we have St Marys at home on Sunday next 25th March where throw in is @ 15.00.

St Marys were unlucky losers first time out away to An Ghaeltacht in Gallarus when losing by two points in a high scoring game with An Ghaeltacht notching two late goals to win; they have Bryan Sheehan back in their ranks and along with the Daly brothers, Conor O’Shea, Paul O’Donoghue et al will be a tough nut to crack even in Strand Road – its the ideal preparation for our first round club championship game with Austin Stacks which has been fixed for Easter Sat night ( March 31st) in Austin Stack Park where throw in is @ 18.45 – this is a double header with the intermediate game between Ardfert & John Mitchels opening proceedings.

Round 2 will see us entertain county champions Dr Crokes on week end of 7/8th April with the final outing being a trip to Gallarus to play An Ghaeltacht the following week end.

Division 5:

Following our first round defeat to Scartaglin, we will have Churchill next week end in Strand Road on Sunday  in a game which will precede the division 1 clash; this fixture should see more players available from the opening game as a few more players return from injury. The fixture is timed for 13.30.

Minors:

Our minors play An Ghaeltacht on Monday 19th at 16.00 in round 2 of county league.

Junior Blues:
Our juveniles marched with pride through Tralee  town wearing their club colours for The St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Up the blues!

.

A huge welcome to all our new girls and boys. Looking forward to seeing you again next week.

Despite a choppy breeze in Ballyrickard during Juvenile training last Sunday there was a great turnout of girls and boys from U6 upwards. This was followed by showers of feather snow. Well done to the girls and boys who braved the elements. Congrats to our U6 ‘players of the week ‘ – Katelynn O’ Brien and Harry O’ Mahony.

Our Moms and Dads welcomed the warm cuppas last Sunday. Thanks to our U12 and U13 girls who have helping out the last couple of weeks.
