The Annual General Meeting took place on Friday last the 27th of November at the club. It was very well attended. Chairman Frank O’Connor welcomed everyone out on what was a very bad night. He also thanked Frank O’Connor, Breda Dyland and Billy Thompson. He said that we couldn’t function without ordinary members volunteering to help out with fundraising such as church gate collections and thanked them for their contributions. Coaching and Development

With ever increasing playing numbers at all ages in the Club we are always anxious to ensure that every player is given the best possible coaching in the skills of the game. We are extremely grateful for the hard work and commitment of our members who volunteer to coach and assist in any way with each team. As in previous years we are looking for new people to get involved. We have had a very productive 2015 and look forward to the same in 2016. This would not be possible without our volunteers. Bearing this in mind and planning for the season ahead we would like to invite anyone who would be interested in getting involved in any team from Saturday Mornings to Minors to get in touch. “Many hands make light work”. Coaching courses will be provided as were in other years and can also be updated. If you feel you have time to give please contact Juvenile Chairman Dinny O’Connor on 0879574410 or Senior Chairman Frank O’Connor on 0877971862. We are looking forward to hearing from you.

Ladies Football

The Ladies AGM took place on Tuesday last at the club. There was a nice attendance including County Chairman Paddy White. Chairman David Collins welcomed everyone and briefly went through all reports from team managers. Treasurer James Hayes outlined the financial position and Secretary Christena Curtin explained a little bit about next years Féile. Election of Officers took place with very little change. David Collins remains on as Chairman, Christena Curtin Secretary, Bree Curtin Assistant Secretary, James Hayes Retired, Ruth Murphy Registrar, Hazel Nix PRO, Frank McLoughlin Fixtures. James Hayes announced that he was stepping down. James has given years of service to the club as a mentor, a fundraiser and the ladies treasurer. He always worked tirelessly and went over and above when it came to representing the club. We all wish James the very best.

Looking out for our neighbours

It is that time of year when everyone is running around and busy and there may not be many club activities going on. We should take time out to remember those members who may be alone for whatever reason and take time to check on them. Remember it is important as a club to look after our supporters and neighbours all year round. Something very simple can mean a great deal and give a moment of support and show that we care.

Congratulations

Congratulations to St Marys Caherciveen on becoming Munster Intermediate Champions on Saturday last.
