We overcame Legion Killarney in bitterly cold and wet conditions played Saturday evening at the Caherina grounds.

In an unusual scoring game we were well ahead of Legion when they pegged us back with 3 separate goals.

We dominated the first quarter with fine play by Kevin Walshe and John C O’Connor mid field.

With Tommy Walsh causing all sorts of problems for the Legion defence we led by 4 points to Legions no score after 14 minutes our points put over by Cian Sayers, Tommy Walsh (2) and David McLoughlin .

Then their first goal which brought them back into the game leaving a point between the sides 0-04 to 1-00 for the Legion.

We went further ahead with points From Tommy Walsh, John Ferguson, and Kieran O’Mahony to leave us ahead by 0-08 to Legions 1-00 but just before half  time Legion struck for their second goal to leave the half time score at Kerins O’Rahillys 0-09 Legion 2-00.

The second half saw Legion attack and after 5 minutes they hit for their 3rd goal levelling the game at Kerins O’Rahillys 0-09 to Legions 3-00, but that was as good as it got for Legion with the backline of Danny Sullivan, David Murphy, Shane Brosnan, Cormac Coffey dominant and setting up the attacks.

Points by Tommy Walsh (3), John Ferguson (2) had us ahead by 0-14 to Legions 3 goals and 5 minutes remaining. We had a further two points from Tommy Walsh and John Ferguson to seal the issue and a valuable 2 Co. League points.

It was overall a team performance with all players putting in a great hours football. Speedy recovery to Shane Brosnan and Ross O Callaghan who went off injured.
