Danno Keeffe: Next weekend will mark the 50th anniversary of the death of the great Danno Keeffe one of our most decorated past players.

To mark the occasion, the club will host a special commemorative evening on Friday night next 2nd June commencing at 8 pm to recall and remember his vast achievements some of which may never be equalled.

It promises to be a great occasion and everyone is welcome to attend.

Seniors: After the heroics of the past two weeks, the lads returned to training this week with a break now from the championship and league points being the priority; the loss of our Kerry senior players ( David, Barry John & Jack) plus a few on JIs making their way to the States will place added pressure on us to climb up the league table with games in June vs Stacks, Rathmore and Crokes.

It is Stacks who are first up next weekend when we welcome them to Strand Rd which has a 7.30 pm throw in on Sat night next 3rd June – your support as always would be much appreciated.

Strand Rd: Strand Rd played their first league game of the season on Friday night last 19th May when they travelled to Killarney to play Spa; though fielding a strong side and well in the game for the most part, they were beaten on a scoreline of 2-10 to 0-13; last week’s game vs Gneeveguilla did not go ahead as Gneeveguilla could not field a team.

Charlie Kerins: We had our second game in this competition on Friday night last when we travelled to Churchill and came away winners on a final score line of 0-14 to 1-07.

Junior Blues:

Our Junior Blue Academy travelled to St.Pats in Blennerville this Sunday morning – we would like to thank St.Pats for hosting a great morning of football,  all the kids had a great time with all kids getting game time.

Player of the week u6 went to Ryan Nix –  well done Ryan .

Ciaran Griffin was the U-10 player of the week.

Our u8/u10 girls travelled to Ballymac having  another great morning- many thanks to Ballymac for hosting this.

U10 boys travelled to Lispole for a mini blitz and again thanks to Lispole for hosting this .

Training will resume next Sunday in Ballyrickard at 11am and all players are to remember that practise makes perfect so make use of the fine weather .

Our u12 boys have began phase 2 of the county league.  We played Listry in A & B with the A team being successful and the Bs somewhat unlucky to lose.
Next game will be against Duagh.

Best of luck to the u16 boys and mentors who play Annasaul/Lispole in the central region final Monday night next 29th May  in St.Pats Blennerville where throw in is at 19.00. Beir bua agus beannacht.

Well done to Darragh O’Connor who has been picked to represent Kerry in the primary schools game which will take place at half time in the upcoming Munster senior football finals on Sunday 2nd July – Darragh had a double reason to celebrate as he finished 3rd in the recent primary schools skills competition only losing out narrowly for second place.

Ladies: U12 Girls
Division 2, Round 2 County Championship. The girls were away to Glenflesk last Tuesday evening, it was a close encounter in the first half with some great scoring from both sides. Our new full forward Adeola had a massive game scoring a total of 3-2. Katie Nix and Aoibhín got some fantastic scores throughout the game.

Kelly Fitz was outstanding in goals as always with Nathali our new corner back and Lauren Doody taking up her new role in the half back line, both having outstanding games. Ella O’Connor moved to the half forwards and played a great game.

On the night the girls really played fantastic. In the finish we ran out comfortable winners with a scoreline of 6-5 to 1-10.
On Tuesday, May 30th we are at home to Rathmore in Ballyrickard . Throw in at 7.30p.m.

U14 Girls
The Kerins O’Rahillys U14 girls played in The County League Final against John Mitchels on Thursday evening last . What a game it was! Mitchels got off to a flying start banging in three fast goals and two points in the opening 10 minutes.

There was a strong wind but conditions were superb and it was a fine evening for football. The wind favoured Mitchels in the first half. Kerins O’Rahillys dug deep and we scored some hard worked points and a goal to leave us just four points down going into the second half.

In the second half, our girls came out a different team and we took control of the game. Eabha Murphy and Liana Williams had a massive game in midfield with Katie Dwyer and Kate Kerins also playing a massive part

in the second half comeback! Captain Sarah Costello played her heart out at centre half back and Siùna Crowe was top class at corner back.

Katie Nix got the winning goal which started with a great kick out from Fayth Efegbare and then onto Liana and she then played it direct into Katie who burst the back of the net to take victory over the Mitchels. Final score Mitchels 3-4 KOR 3-6.

Well done to all of the U14 panel on a fantastic win which was well deserved.
A big  thank you to management Martin Nix, Tricia Moran, Paddy Hayes and Shannon McInerney.
