Strand RoadKerins O’Rahillys Notes Juveniles U6/8/10

All activity for this age group is now taking a short break. Activity will resume with our annual Summer Camp. This will be run from the 11th to the 15th of August. Camp times are from 10.30 to 2pm and our camp will be staffed by qualified coaches. We would like to thank our camp sponsor Roy Bowler of Shore Acre Caravan Park Camp. U11s Play Ardfert in Strand Road on Saturday 2nd at 1.30pm.


U16s Played Gneeveguilla on Wednesday last. The score at half time was Kerins O’Rahillys 0-04 Gneeveguilla 0-07. Kerins O’Rahillys turned it around in the second half to draw the game with the final score Kerins O’Rahillys 1-08 Gneeveguilla 0-11.

The U16s were due to play Laune Rangers on Wednesday evening but this game will no longer go ahead. It has been conceded by Laune Rangers. Senior Football Senior County League Round 8 Kerins O’Rahillys 0-05 Milltown/Castlemaine 2-13 Kerins O’Rahillys played Milltown/Castlemaine on Saturday last in Round 8 of the Co League with a depleted side and were beaten by a stronger side on the night.

Junior Fixtures

Strand Rd play Ballymac in the Junior Town League on Thursday 31st at 7.30 in Strand Rd. Strand Rd play St Pats in same competition on Tuesday 5th at 7.30 in Strand Road. Mouth-Guards: As you may be aware it will be compulsory for all players senior right down to juvenile to wear mouth-guards at training sessions and when playing games.

This comes into effect for seniors from 1st January 2014 and has been in effect for all others since last January. If players fail to wear mouth guards they will not be permitted to participate in football training or matches.

No mouthguard No game!

Ladies Football

U14/U16 U14 and U16 Ladies train every Tuesday at 6.15 in Ballyrickard. U12 Girls U12 girls train this week and have to play remaining games in North Kerry League. They will be notified by text. Birthday Wishes Birthday wishes this week go to Aoibhinn Corridon U6 Girls, Odhran Kerins U8 Boys, Jerome Daly U12 Boys and Jordan Morris-Lynch U12 Boys. Enjoy your Birthday!

Best of luck to the Kerry Senior team and their management who play Galway in the All-Ireland Quarter final on Sunday next. Congratulations to the Kerry U14 ladies team on their recent All-Ireland win and to our own Frank McLoughlin for his involvement with the team.

Lotto The Lotto takes place in Charlie’s Bar every Monday. The Lotto results for Monday the 21st of July were 2, 8, 11 and 28. There was no jackpot winner; the next jackpot will be €6,100. There were 6 match 3 winners. They were Joe Griffin DD, Sheila Ronan c/o Peter, Lillie Healy DD, Thomas O’Connor Kerins Park, Ann, Martin, Sonny c/o Ann and Tim Scannell DD.

The 5 entrants for the December draw were Mags and Sean c/o Sean Kissane, Fred and Dylan c/o Fred, Julie Griffin c/o Pat, Tony Flavin Ashgrove and Terry Healy DD. To play the Kerins O’Rahillys Lotto, four numbers are selected from 1 to 28. If anybody matches the four numbers selected on the night he/she wins the Jackpot. Match three numbers to win €25. Tickets cost €2 each.

The Kerins O’Rahillys Lotto can also be played online at Lotto Sellers The club needs lotto ticket sellers. It can be worth your while. If you are interested contact any member of the Senior Committee.

Charlie’s Bar Club Lotto on takes place in the bar every Monday night with a special in house raffle if you are present so why not pop along. Why not treat yourself to lunch in Charlie’s. There’s something to please everyone.

Weightwatchers takes place in the Healy Room every Thursday and have now changed to “winter” times. Classes now take place at 9.30am, 12.30 and 5.30pm. The Active Retired Coffee Morning Group meets every Tuesday morning in Charlie’s. Come along and keep in touch with old friends and make new friends. All welcome.

“Dance for Fun” has finished for the summer but will make a return in the autumn. Keep an eye on the notes for dates and times. We have many different size function rooms and cater to all types of function.

We also have Barbecue facilities so with beautiful summer weather why not consider having a barbecue at Charlies. Contact Tom or Eileen or any member of staff at 7124956 if you have any queries.
