Seniors:
The past few weeks have all been about preparation both physically and mentally for the weekend decider with Dr Crokes for a place in the final of this year’s senior county championship.

Its all of ten years since we last contested the blue riband of Kerry football and while we have been knocking on the door in recent years, we are now just 6o minutes away from this years finale and no stone will be left unturned in our bid for glory.

Standing in our way are the current holders and favourites Dr Crokes and though we had a never to be forgotten win over the same opposition in round 2A there is no doubt we will face a different side on Sunday.

For our part, training has gone well, the attitude is good and despite the loss of the unfortunate Cian Sayers from the quarter final, there is no doubting the desire to return the club to a final which will be played on Sunday 28th Oct.

We are asking for your support on the day as you have done this year to date travelling in large numbers to various venues – the players and management to a man have made a huge commitment with many sacrifices along the way to get us this far – it would be great to have a big colourful support present on Sunday – bigi linn!

We are scheduled to play in the 2nd semi final on Sunday in Austin Stack Park with throw in @ 3.45 – it promises to be a great occasion and will be preceded at 2 pm by the meeting of Dingle and East Kerry.

Academy:

The final session of the year took place on Sunday morning in Healy Park with another fine turnout. Thanks to all the coaches for their fantastic efforts during the year, the parents for their commitment and of course the kids who made many new friends throughout the course of the year and improved their skills no end.

U-16s:
Our side came up short against a strong Ballymac team on Sunday in the Coiste Trá Lí town league.

U12 GIRLS
Last Sunday the girls played in The Town League which was played in blitz format in Ballyrickard. In our first game we played John Mitchels and won well. We played Ballymac in the cup final and unfortunately were beaten by the better team. Well done to the girls and Frank, Paddy, Colm and Katie.
U13 TRALEE DISTRICT
Congrats to 13 of our girls who received fab medals after winning the shield on Saturday. Tralee District was represented by girls from Kerins O’Rahilly’s Club, John Mitchels, Na Gaeil and Stacks. Well done to everyone involved, the girls played some great football together. Thanks to everyone involved and especially to Danny and Edward for coaching the girls on Saturday and to Katie also for helping out.
U14 GIRLS
The U14 girls did  themselves and Kerins O’Rahillys proud with a hard fought win against a very strong Moyvane team in the final of The North Kerry League played at the John Mitchels grounds last Sunday evening . Conditions were difficult with a very strong breeze favouring no side during the game. Moyvane raced into a very good lead with 3 very good points in the first ten minutes. It took KOR time to settle but over the next 20 minutes they rattled off 3 great goals and a point .
Bronagh Carroll was the scorer of 2 of those and has been playing very well over the last 2 months, also playing well while being marked really tight was Katie Nix and Kate Kerins while Rachael O’ Donnell was winning good ball around the 40. Aoibhín O’ Connor MacCarthy was also excellent and played a pivotal role in two of those goals. We also missed a penalty in the first half but our backs were really steady as usual with Keelan Coffey , Hollie Leane, Eugenie Kerins and Lauren Doody
playing particularly very well and Kelly Fitzgerald very dependable in goals coming out on a few vital balls and delivering balls with great accuracy from her kick out. We were 4 points up at half time but should have been more and as predicted we knew that Moyvane would come at us strong in the second half , our mistakes gifted them 3 goals and a few missed passes could have cost us far more but for great defending by our great back line.. We brought on reinforcements half way through the second half and that proved crucial , Aisling O’ Connell, Lia Mclysaght, Siobhan Clifford and Aoife Hogan to give a bit of push as with 5 minutes to go we were down 6 points having missed another penalty in the second half . We then had the most exciting finish of the year in that we scored a point followed by a Rachael O’ Donnell penalty followed by another goal in the last minute . And the ref blew it up with KOR winning by 1 point. What followed were scenes of jubilation from all the team and supporters who were also brilliant throughout the game and gave Moyvane as good as they got , this win was so badly needed for everyone on that team and like we to them before the game it’s a team playing together, fighting for every ball  together and never giving up  that would win the game for us. No one player did it, everyone on the field with a blue jersey on won it. The celebrations will be remembered for a long time to come and while Moyvane were tough and physical at times we stood up and that’s when you know the strength of a team. The mentors and the club are all very proud of all of them and they deserve that win as much as anything they have ever won before. Well done to everyone involved.
Next Saturday we have the town league in blitz format.
U16 GIRLS
Next Saturday we meet Beale / Ballyduff in the final. Venue TBC.
