U8/10/12 Boys
Our U8/10 and 12 Boys are training on Sundays last at the Sports Complex. This is proving to be popular and great preparation for their return to outdoor training on the 7th of March. Training continues on Sunday next the 22nd at 11am for the U8/10s and at 12pm for the U12s.
Indoor Training
Indoor training for U12s, U14s and U16s has finished for the present time.
Coaching Workshops
Kerry Coaching and Games Committee are running a number of practical Football Workshops for coaching beginning this week. The following are provisional dates for the other two workshops. Workshop 2 U6 –U8 Coaches February 17th at 6.45 in John Mitchels. Workshop 3 U10 Coaches March 2nd 6.45 in John Mitchels.
Senior Football
Tralee District Senior League Kerins O’Rahillys 0-13 Na Gaeil 2-05
We kicked off the new season with a hard fought 2 point win over Na Gaeil in Tralee town league played on a heavy pitch in Strand Rd on Sunday last.
We took the initiative from the throw in and were 3 points to nil in front after 10 mins thanks to some great scores from play by Declan Quill, John Ferguson and Kieran O’Mahony.
Some poor play in defence allowed our opponents a chance of goal which they duly took to level matters as we approached the half way mark. Again we pressed forward thanks to Kevin Walshe’s work in mid field and led by 2 again after 20 mins. Again some sloppy play at the back allowed Na Gaeil in for a second goal and at the half time whistle matters were level, 0-7 to 2-01.
The second half was a bit more even with both sides trading points which with 10 minutes remaining saw us trailing by one point, 2-05 to 10 points.
At this stage, Con Barrett, moved to mid field was making his presence felt and with Danny Sullivan driving from the back we kicked three unanswered points via Declan, Kieran and a peach of a strike from John O’Connor.
Best on the day were Danny Sullivan, Con Barrett, Kevin Walshe and Declan Quill who kicked 5 points. We are at home again next Sunday to John Mitchels with throw in at 12.30pm.
Minor Football
Tralee District Minor League Division 1 Kerins O’Rahillys 4-11 AustinStacks 1-02 We recorded a very convincing win over neighbours Austin Stacks on Saturday last in the Tralee Minor League.
We put a score of 2-07 to 0-01 on the board in the first half and some outstanding defending, in particular from Eoin Edwards, held Austin Stacks to a score of 1-01 in the second half.
The next game is a back game to be played on Tuesday the 17th against Na Gaeil in Kileen at 4.30. Next weekend sees the start of the Co League for our Minors. We play Dr Crokes in Division 1 in Strand Rd at 4pm on Saturday 21st.
Tralee District Minor League Division 2 Kerins O’Rahillys v Churchill 14-02-2015 Our Division 2 Minor team travelled to Churchill on February 14th to play Churchill in the Tralee Minor League.
There was a referee present and everyone ready to play a game. However Churchill failed to show up on the day so we are awaiting the final decision on the fixture. Next game in the Tralee Minor League is on the 28th at home to Ardfert.
The first game in the Co League Div 6B is on Saturday next the 21st away to Moyvane/Tarbert at 4pm. These fixtures are subject to change and changes will be posted on Facebook and Twitter.
Ladies Football
All training is now back up and running. The U12 girls are training in Strand Rd on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6.30 to 7.30 with Jason and Norma. Contact Jason on 0862530484 for details.

This years Social will be held in our own club on the 28th of February. Tickets are now available from all committee members.
Congratulations
Congratulations to our Senior Selector Ray Walsh and his wife Sharon on arrival of baby Nathan on Sunday last. A Strand Road star in the making we have no doubt.
Congratulations to Bernice Hoffman on winning the Kerins O’Rahillys Lotto.
Congratulations to neighbours Ardfert on bringing home the Intermediate Club All-Ireland title and to Brosna on achieving the same at junior level. Valentines Day was once again a very emotional one for Kerry clubs in Croke Park.

The Lotto takes place in Charlie’s Bar every Monday. The Lotto results for Monday the 9th February were 6, 11, 13 and 21.

Pilates Classes
Do you want to improve your flexibility? Do you suffer from back, neck or hip pain? Do you want to improve your strength and tone up? Well look no further “Pilates Classes” have arrived at Kerins O’Rahillys.

Weightwatchers

Charlie’s Bar
Club Lotto on takes place in the bar every Monday night with a special in house raffle if you are present so why not pop along. Why not treat yourself to lunch in Charlie’s. There’s something to please everyone.
The Active Retired Coffee Morning Group meets every Tuesday morning in Charlie’s. Come along and keep in touch with old friends and make new friends. All welcome. “Dance for Fun” is back on Wednesday nights.
