10K announced:
Our annual 10k and 5k road races will take place on Sunday 27th Jan 2019 commencing at 11.oo am from the club house. The routes will be same as in previous years, entries can be made on line @ niftyentries.com – such is the interest in this event, entries have been coming in since registration opened on Weds last. Registration costs €20 for either event. There will be more on this in the coming weeks.

Seniors:
Sunday 2nd Dec has been pencilled in as the date for the county league division 1 final when we will play Dr Crokes in Lewis Road at 2 pm – Dr Crokes have home venue by virtue of finishing top in the division.

As its our final game of the season, it would be great to see as much support there as possible.

Academy:
Scoil Eoin Balloonagh are the Cumann Na mBunscol champions after their fine win over Duagh ( 4-09 to 1-06)  on Friday night last in the division 1 decider played in Austin Stack Park.

The team, captained by our own Tomás Kennedy proved too good on the night with Tomás kicking a huge score in the first half when aided by the wind; Breandán Meehan, Adam Evans & Ciarán Griffin were other club members to win medals on the night. Well done to all.

Well done to Daniel Bowler who kicked 4 points as Mercy Mounthawk had a runaway win over IS Killorglin in the Corn Uí Mhuiri played in Currans on Weds; Mounthawk are well placed to qualify from this group of 4 with an upcoming game vs St Brendans.

Preparations are underway for our Christmas kids party which as always is open to every child in our community. Mark Sunday, December 9th in your calendar as a day not to be missed in Charlie’s Bar & Bistro.
There will be plenty of fun and entertainment for everyone and of course most importantly we will have a visit from the man himself Santa Claus and hopefully Mrs. Claus will
be there too to check out if you’re on the naughty or nice list . So hopefully all the girls and boys are behaving themselves because Santa hears about everything!
We also have a Christmas Fair organised for the day and will have something on the day of interest to all ages.
Moms Night Out
We are now arranging to have the Moms Night Out at the end of January. This will probably suit everyone better as we are all very busy leading up to Christmas.

Ladies:
U16 GIRLS
The U16 girls had their end of year day out last Sunday. They were on the road nice and early to go ice skating before they headed over to Mahon Point Shopping Centre to do a little shopping.
It was a pleasure to treat a lovely bunch of young ladies who we are proud to call our own. Well done , you are a credit to yourselves, your parents and your club.

U12, U14 GIRLS
Next Saturday, November 24th the girls have an early start as they too are heading off to Cork ice skating. This will also be followed by a trip to Mahon Point to do a little pre Christmas shopping.
We will be meeting in the main club at 8.45a.m. sharp. Next year’s U11 girls will also join us – a bonding day for them.

RECRUITMENT
We are recruiting for 2019 . We look after our girls well and everyone is made feel welcome here. For further details contact Shirley ( 086) 8713552.

Condolences:
There was much sadness on Sunday morning last when the news filtered through that Weeshie Fogarty had passed to his eternal reward.

Weeshie was already a household name in Kerry GAA circles before he took to the airwaves with Radio Kerry and launched his Terrace Talk programme – its fair to say that through his passion, his inimitable style, his love and affection for all things Kerry that he  gained a huge following far and wide and Monday evenings were eagerly anticipated especially during the summer when Kerry’s performances would be analysed and discussed in great detail.

It was no surprise that his prowess was recognised with a McNamee Award in 1999 and the prestigious PPI Sports Programme of the Year in 2008.

To his wife Joan, daughters Denise ( current secretary of Killarney Legion), Carolann & son Kieran we extend our deepest sympathy – ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dilis.
