JOE O’Connor of NISUS Fitness in Tralee was confirmed as the Head Of Athletic Development for the Kerry Senior Football Team at the Kerry GAA County Committee meeting last night.
The Rathkeale native lectures in the physiology and performance training in IT Tralee and runs NISUS Fitness in Killerisk Business Park.
He worked in the past with Davy Fitzgerald when he was with the Waterford and Clare hurlers and was part of the management team when Clare won the All-Ireland in 2013 All-Ireland victory. He was also strength and conditioning coach with the Limerick hurlers.
Niall O’ Mahony (Spa) will become the Senior Strength and Conditioning Coach.
Manager Eamonn Fitzmaurice, will be joined by selectors Mikey Sheehy, Padraig Corcoran, Liam Hassett and Maurice Fitzgerald.
Kerry GAA are commencing the three year programme of supports not only for the senior football team but for all intercounty teams to ensure a fully streamlined and co-ordinated programme is achieved.
