With the start of the season of Autumn and the longer nights drawn in Badminton enthusiasts throughout the County will be looking forward to a new season.

The Kerry Badminton Association recently held their Annual General Meeting and this meeting saw the retirement of outgoing County Secretary Mrs. Peggy Horan, Killarney, after 11 years of service as secretary of the County Association and she has been replaced by Mr. James Sheehan, Moyvane.

Asst. Secretary; Miss Brid Murphy, Kingdom, Castleisland.

Hon.. Treasurer; Mrs. Marion O’Neill, County, Tralee

Juvenile Chairman; Mr. Billy Lacey, Kingdom, Castleisland

At the moment the game of Badminton is played extensively in Kerry with Clubs in Annascaul, Ballyheigue, Castleisland, Dingle, Killarney, Listowel, Moyvane, Tralee and Sneem/Iveragh.

Rumour has it that Causeway may be returning to the Kerry Association fold for next season.

As seen on the Guinness Book of Records, Badminton is the Worlds Fastest Racquet Sport and it is a wonderful recreation for the Winter months with the Kerry County Association catering for all levels of players with a programme of competitions and events from November until May.
