cceAs the evenings begin to stretch the Comhlaltas season is getting busier. Plans are at an advanced stage for this years Fleadh Cheoil Chiarraí, which will be held in Tralee from May 18 to 22. The square will be a hive of activity over the five days with plenty of free entertainment and a full outdoor and indoor programme has been put together for the event and can be found on the website.

Tralee committee for the St Patrick’s Day has given the honour to Kerry Comhaltas to lead this years parade. Plans for this are now being finalised. On April 13, Weeshie Fogarty will feature Fleadh Cheoil Chiarraí and Comhaltas in Kerry on his programme “In Conversation with” A street collection will take place on Saturday April 16th and we will be very grateful for all your support.

Fleadh Chiarraí Meeting on this Tuesday in the IT Tralee at 8pm. Branch meetings this week on Monday: Killorglin CCE, Wednesday Ballybunion CCE, and on Thursday, both Causeway CCE and Killarney CCE will hold theirs. Craobh Naomh Breandain Comhaltas are holding a fundraising clothes collection on, Saturday March 12, at Cuil Mhuire Ardfert (beside the church), between 11am and 2pm, in aid of Fleadh Cheoil Chiarraí.

This Thursday in St. John’s Theatre Listowel the best of Tradition will feature Donegal fiddle player Bríd Harper, Tony O Connell concertina and Gearóid Ó Duinnín guitar. Traditional fundraising variety concert by West Limerick traditional singing club will take place on Saturday March 12th in Fr Caseys GAA club Abbeyfeale.

The concert will include a variety of Traditional Musicians, Singers, Storytellers and dancers all for just €10. Please support. A new Parental Release form has now been uploaded to the website. Please use this new one for all new applications. Fleadh na Mumhan Listowel Committee will hold an Officers and department heads on this Wednesday evening at 8pm in Christys Listowel.
