APPLIED Science students of Kerry College hosted a ‘Wear And Share’ Event in the Clash Road Campus to mark International Womens Day on Tuesday.

The event was in aid of Adapt Women’s Refuge and saw staff and students bring in clothes they no longer wear and share them with other staff and students.

All clothing left over at the end of the event was dropped up to ADAPT .  There was a donation bucket at the event also to fundraise for ADAPT.

Donations were also made via a fundraising page by scanning a pink-framed QR Code.  Staff and students also donated hygiene items such as shampoo, conditioner, gel, toilet paper, toothpaste, cleaning materials on the day etc.

Representatives from ADAPT and Women’s Aid were at the event and spoke to current students about domestic violence in Ireland, the impact of same on an individual and their families and  what people can do to make a positive difference to people in such situations.

ADAPT provide essential housing and supports for women and children fleeing domestic violence.

The music students provided entertainment and performed some of their own original work on the day.
