DartsThe Tuborg Tralee and District League moved on last week with victories in section 1 for McElligotts, Ardfert, over Huddle 1 on a scoreline of 4-3. New Kingdom Bar, Listowel had a victory over O’Connors, Ballyduff, catching them cold with the scoreline not reflecting the tightness of the games.

In section 2, there was a 4-3 win for Slieve Mish over Brodericks, Listowel. This was a very close affair and went right down to the wire.

The other game in section 2 saw the Complex hit the ground running with a 5-2 victory over Lixnaw 1. This was a great start for the lads back in the league after a year away and with it being a family affair with a father, two sons and an uncle. They should get great confidence from this win.

In section 3, Keane’s of Causeway kept up their great start with a 5-2 win over a strong Railway bar, Lixnaw side.
The Railway’s neighbours, The Dew Drop Inn, played well against a gallant Castlegregory and this would have been much closer but for missed doubles by the away side.

Parkers 2 had a good 5-2 win over the Huddle 3 in Kilflynn. It is great to see bar putting out two and three teams really shows the interest in the league.

The cups have been named for the 3 sections and are as follows:

Section 1: The Joe Flynn cup

Joe of course was one of the foundiong members of this league and is honorary lifetime president of the league

Section 2 is named after Christy Kelly, a well known thrower around Tralee and beyond. Christy played league darts with the huddle and Turners bar.

Section 3 is The Eileen Joyce Cup and it’s a great honour for the league to honour a great darts woman who travelled North Kerry and beyond with her husband Sean.
