The Event was expertly organised by John Creagh PE teacher Colaiste Gleann Lí, Kieran O’Callaghan PE teacher Kerry College of Further Education with assistance from the Sport and Recreation Students of the College of Further Education. Ray Gadsden, Community Rugby Officer for West Munster has supported the promotion of Rugby in these schools over the years.

Tag Rugby is a very social team sport and a wonderful way to make new friends locally or in college which is just one of the reasons why this event is organised for the senior students.

Fifth and Sixth Year students participate every year after completing a module in Tag Rugby as part of their Senior Cycle Physical Education Curriculum taught by qualified Physical Education teachers. The rules are simple. Each game is 10 minutes straight.

Squads of 10 are allowed with 7 –a-side and 3 substitutes. There must be 2 girls on the team at all times. A try is normally worth 1 point. If a girl scores a try it is worth 3 points.

The winners of the 2015 Kerry ETB Mixed Tag Rugby Shield were Killorglin CC who beat Castleisland CC, 6-3 in a closely contested Final. This victory for Killorglin CC makes it 3 in a row, and keeps Killorglin the only name on the Shield to date. Congratulations to all concerned.
