Kerry Family Comes Forward To Claim €2.2m Lotto Jackpot

national-lotteryA FAMILY syndicate of two from Kerry, came forward this afternoon to claim their share of the €4.5m jackpot won at the weekend.

The Kerry duo could not believe their luck as they collected their prize for €2,266,323 (the other winning ticket was sold in Donegal).  They celebrated their fantastic news in the National Lottery Winners’ Room with a glass of champagne and told their very lucky story:

“We were on the way to the shop and a black cat ran in front of the car.  It must have been fate!” said the syndicate spokesperson.

After their encounter with the cat, they played a Lotto Quick Pick.  The ticket was sold in Hannah Mary’s Country Store XL in Killorglin.

As they were handed their cheque today, they said, “That is just fabulous.”

The delighted winners will take timeout to get used to their newfound wealth. They wish to remain private.

Saturday’s second Lotto jackpot winning ticketholder has yet to come forward. The ticket was bought in Centra Foodmarket in Carrigart, Letterkenny, Co. Donegal.

It was a bumper winning draw on Saturday as two further major prizes were won, and one of those was also sold in Kerry.  The player matched 5 numbers and the Bonus prize in the main Lotto draw to win €181,751. The winning Quick Pick selection was sold in Moloney’s Newsagents in Listowel.
