Kerry Islamic Outreach Society To Hold Annual Cultural Exhibition

THE Kerry Islamic Outreach Society are currently gearing up to host their ‘Third Annual Islamic Cultural Exhibition’ here in town which will be held on August 22  at the Brandon hotel.

The exhibition will from 11am till 5pm on the day and will feature a whole host of both entertainment and informative pieces for all that attend.

All proceeds from the day will be going to Adapt Kerry at the Kerry Women’s Refuge Centre.

There will be several segments on the day for everyone to enjoy including free gift bags, free henna painting, face painting, having your name written in Arabic calligraphy along information on benefits of fasting and many more.

Those who attended last year’s event will remember the AV session that was held where various topics about some aspects of Islam were shown to the public.

These will include such areas such as women rights in Islam, Islam and extremism in the context of current political affairs and the prophet Muhammad and his message. There will also be information given on the holy book, The Quran and its message.

In the last two years, hundreds of the local community have attended the exhibition in order to learn about the faith and rituals of their friends in the religious community.
