WITH just hours to go until tonight’s much anticipated ‘must be won’ €190 million EuroMillions jackpot, two separate lucky winners from Kerry and Meath celebrated their own new found EuroMillions fortune after they both won the €500,000 EuroMillions Plus top prize on Tuesday, October 1.

First to collect their half-million euro EuroMillions prize today (Tuesday) was a lucky Kerry man who celebrated at National Lottery headquarters in style having made the trip from Kerry to Dublin with family members.

The Kerry native who wishes to keep his win private purchased his winning Quick Pick ticket at the Centra store on the Rock Road in Killarney town.

He said, “This win means the absolute world to me and my family. Word went around the town last week that the winning ticket was sold on the Rock Road and knowing that I had bought my ticket there, I was afraid to check it for hours, knowing that there was a possibility that I could be the big winner.”

“It was one of those feelings where I just knew it was me -when I finally did pluck up the courage to scan it on my phone App, it came as no surprise to see the winner’s message popping up on my phone. It was just pure class,” he said.

The winner plans to use his €500,000 fortune to pay off his family’s mortgage and other bills and he also plans to treat his family once the money is in his bank account.

He added, “We are a very hardworking family and like everybody else, we have bills and mortgage payments every month. While it’s not at the €190 million level, this prize allows us to pay off our mortgage and it gives us so many options for the future of our family, it is truly life changing for us.”

Also claiming another €500,000 EuroMillions Plus prize today were an ecstatic couple from Co. Meath who expressed their shock when they were informed by National Lottery officials of their huge prize.

They explained: “We genuinely thought we were sharing the €500,000 prize with the two other winners from Kerry and Dublin,” they said.

“We heard that there were three winners of the Plus top prize that night and we thought we had won €166,666 each. Obviously we were delighted with that but to have the €500,000 all to ourselves is even better,” they laughed.

That Tuesday night draw produced three winners of the EuroMillions Plus top prize with the other winner who has yet to come forward, purchasing their ticket at the Mace store in Kilbarrack shopping centre in Dublin
