THE Kerry minor hurlers made it three titles in a row on Saturday when they defeated Meath in Nenagh on Saturday on a scoreline of Kerry 3-18 Meath 2-15.
Kerry started brightly and led 1-1. to 0-3 before the magnificent Charlie Bird, the Meath number eight, put Meath ahead by a point on twelve minutes.
It was nip and tuck for the remainder of the first half with Bird keeping Meath in touch, the sides went in at halftime level Kerry 1-7 Meath 0-10, Fionan O’Sullivan finding the net for Kerry.
Meath were reduced to 14 men on 13 minutes and then came a deluge of goals, two for Kerry one each for Jordan Conway and Brandon Barrett and one for Gavin McGowan for Meath making the final score Kerry 3-18 Meath 2-15.
This was a complete team win with the starting 15, along with the subs, all contributing, Jack Goulding was introduced to great effect and must be in contention for the MOTM.
