Tralee Projects Receive Funding From Heritage Council

Kerry County MuseumTHE Heritage Council has announced funding for a number of heritage projects in Kerry under its 2016 Community-based Heritage Grants Scheme.

Three of the projects are based in Tralee; a conservation management plan for St John’s Church gets €8,000, a conservation management plan for buildings within the disused Denny factory site also gets €8,000, while €1,200 will go to the Kerry County Museum for Documentary evidence of 1916 – creating a legacy of conserved objects.

A total of 171 heritage projects nationwide have been awarded funding under the scheme, which supports the continuing conservation and development of Irish heritage through local community based groups.

Funding of €800,000 has been provided through the Heritage Council and the Department Regional Development, Rural Affairs, Arts and the Gaeltachtand almost 400 projects across the country applied for funding.
