Class resumption

Classes resume in all centres on Monday, January 12th. Enrollments for Term II, which begins on Monday, January 26th, are now being taken.

Sample lessons/ taster courses

Prospective students can request a ‘taster’ programme to help them determine their suitability for a particular instrument. These usually take the form of either a single pre-paid lesson with a teacher or a 5-week ‘taster’ term. Parents have reacted very positively to the introduction of these short tasters and the the vast majority of students who have taken up this offer over the past year have continued their studies beyond the taster period.

Scholarships

A limited number of scholarships will be offered to current and prospective students interested in learning to play lower woodwind instruments (Alto and Tenor Saxophone, Bassoon), all brass( Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone and Tuba/Euphonium) and strings (Double Bass). These scholarships are offered for second term (January 26th forward) and are subject to conditions. For further information contact us on 066 7125690.

Superb Welsh Tenor for KSM Fleischmann Studio

Outstanding Welsh-born, Cork-resident Tenor Ryan Morgan who has firmly established himself as one of the country’s leading tenors will give a New Year recital in the Kerry School of Music’s Fleischmann Studio on Saturday, January 24th at 7.30pm. Accompanied by School of Music Director Aidan O’Carroll and featuring guest artist Soprano Aisling O’ Carroll, Ryan’s programme will include songs by Handel, Haydn, Mozart, Faure, Schubert, Tchaikovsky as well as popular classics such as Where’er you walk, My Lagan Love, Myfanwy (the Welsh Rugby anthem) and How great thou art.

Ryan, who holds a Doctorate in Law, gave up a full-time college lectureship to pursue his singing career. Like Aisling, he has studied under Dr.Veronica Dunne and in the past couple of years has become widely known as a concert singer and for his roles in opera and musical theatre.
