NEGOTIATIONS are at an advanced stage to locate a mass vaccination centre in Tralee.
Fianna Fáil Cllr Mikey Sheehy, who lodged motions at recent Tralee MD and Kerry County Council meetings on the issue, said two sites — at the Kerry Sports Academy at the Munster Technological University campus in Dromtacker and Killarney Sports and Leisure Centre — had been chosen in Kerry
He said negotiations are at an advanced stage and such vaccination sites can support the roll out of the vaccine by GPs and Pharmacies.
“It’s vitally important that plans are now finalised and sites the sites earmarked are equipped and supported. Clarity and decisiveness are key in battling COVID19,” said the councillor. Up to 40 such vaccination sites are to be developed nationally.
