A NEW tarmacadamed walkway has been developed in one of the most scenic parts of Tralee thanks to the generosity of a local landowner.

Brian Walsh allowed for the fenced off laneway to be constructed on his land near the car park by the lock gates in Lohercannon going out to Cockleshell Road/beach and it’s already proving a big hit with walkers during the fine weather this summer.

Mr Walsh was widely praised by councillors for the gesture at the Tralee Municipal District meeting on Tuesday morning.

  3. Mr. Walsh – I commend you on sharing your property with the public. You probably only lost a few feet width of your property, but you gave access and enjoyment to hundreds if not thousands. You are a champ. Can you have a word with that miserly guy on Fenit Island?!!!
