Thousands are expected to travel to Croke Park on Sunday to watch Colm Cooper and Co. take on Tyrone.

THE big rivalry between Kerry and Tyrone has generated huge interest in Sunday’s All-Ireland semi-final in Croke Park with Kingdom fans expected to be well represented in the capital at the weekend.

Kerry supporters have been picking up tickets and packing out buses all week in the hope we’ll finally get one over on Tyrone in Croke Park for the first time since 1986.

A spokesperson from the Kerry County Board has said ticket sales have been strong all week, while Martin Leane from the Kerry Supporters Club says he is seeing the same reaction and three buses will take the road to Dublin on Sunday.

“There is a huge demand with us so the demand for tickets must be high given the feedback we’ve got from people booking the buses,” said Martin Leane.

Of course with the minors also playing, that’s worth a few thousand more travelling from all the clubs they will be representing. Kerry will need that big support, as word from Tyrone is that they’ll be travelling in their tens of thousands.

Irish Rail have answered the demand by putting on extra services and (as of 10.45am on Friday) there still are seats available on the 7.50am train leaving Tralee on Sunday morning and the 7.20pm returning from Dublin that evening.
